That's a cool idea, Dano. The trouble is, coming up with an unbottable event. They said Dungeoneering would be unbottable, but...

DG bots are my favourite bots because if you DG with a group of them (accidentally I didn't know they were bots), it removes most of the headache of dungeoneering.

The only systems I know of that take exponentially longer to solve than to verify are made to prevent email spam. Unfortunately, they wouldn't work for RuneScape because while email spammers can't handle several seconds of computation per email, a RuneScape bot could easily handle a few seconds of extra computation that only happened occasionally.

Is there any system that can be generated and verified by computers but not solved by them? Captchas aren't going to work very well because there's a line of 0 width between unreadable and easily solvable. The only way to create a puzzle a computer can't solve would be to have it be created by something other than a computer, which wouldn't work with the large number of bots.

I was looking at the slides on the main runescape website and 3 of them were promoting ways you could give Jagex your money, 1 was promoting a community event (RuneFest), and 1 promoting content. So I guess currently 3/5ths of their concentration is getting more money. I wouldn't be surprised if they put in a new city or quest and it's like "You must have bought a RuneScape membership card at a marked up price from GameStop to access this".

Anyways it wouldn't be surprising if Jagex is actually running one of the RWT sites. Cash in on it before they've developed their solution to ridding it after allowing us to have free trade reinstated on their misjudged macro prevention tactics... or maybe they were just purposely going to run the game into the ground and just try to make every last ££. lol conspiracies
