What is the best skill?

I'm going to have to go with Fletching, It is just do easy, fun and once you get high enough, decent money.

I can't really say there is a "best" skill imo. Must skills are meant to be used with each other.

But if you ask me what the funnest skill is, I will have to say Dungeoneering. This skill brings every single other skill together, and inspires me to actually level everything else in game. Also, it is meant to be trained with a small group of people. If you have friends, it is a lot of fun.

I would say Agility or Strength. Agility for the reasons you said, makes getting places faster. Strength because it boosts your hits.
However, I'm gonna have to go with Magic. Once you hit Spellbook Swap, you can pretty much do anything without switching altars. There are so many spells with so many uses.

Slayer would be my first pick, since it makes so much money while training combat. Don't forget about all those charm drops as well!
Dungeoneering come to mind as well, but only for the rewards. Chaotic weapons PWN!

My favorite skill is most peoples least favorite... Firemaking. Although a lot of ppl say it's pointless, I enjoy how repetative and relaxing it is.

For me it depends upon how you class a skill as "the best". If by hardest to level, I would probably say Runecrafting, as it's also one of the most respected skills.

In terms of being fun and enjoyable, I'd say Thieving, as I don't find RuneScape particularly fun any more, and I originally hated the skill. But after spending some time on it I found it really quite fun. After years of being falcon punched by men in Lumbridge I can steal tonnes of gold from them without a hitch, I find it very rewarding.
