I was hoping you all could help me with my list this year.

Thanks a bunch!

A tv AND a laptop AND a digicam? Haha I think that's a bit of wishful thinking to get all of them together at one Christmas. Still, all the power to you matey.

Well I really don't have a preference. 30" would be nice, but really it could be 29" and I wouldn't care. ;)

Well it isn't just a Christmas list, but also a birthday list as well. I also have two sets of parents. With that all said, this is one of the "lighter" lists I've had. Plus, if I get the laptop I really don't expect anything else, but anything else is a bonus. My parents won't allow me to ask for a laptop only, they want a list of multiple items.

It's alright for some eh? Maybe specifiy a MP rating for the camera, cause they might end up buying you one where everyone's heads are squares because they got you a 0.5MP camera.

You're 19 and you still get "big" presents? Most people I know stop getting things like that when they're around 16-18 because they have their own money and if they want a laptop or a TV they just go out and buy it.

Most of the gifts I expect to get for my birthday/christmas this year will be cursory things... Nothing I really need nor want. I prefer buying nice gifts for other people.

^ this.
Since I moved out I've found there's alot of things I used to use while living with my parents that I don't have anymore. I'm asking for stuff that's useful to me in some form rather than just for entertainment value.
Toasted sandwhich maker is at the top of my list.

not sure about them but when you get older you take on more responsibility and your expected to buy your own things and not get everything from your parents.

My parents are weird. I still get gifts around 100-200$ at Christmas and my birthday. That's all I ever got. I'm 17 and have a job. But if I want to buy something with my earned money I have to tell them about it first. And it's not like I'm buying anything illegal. I just want to buy and iTouch, new phone, etc. I remember once I came come with Rockband 2 one day and they flipped out and took my 360 away, forever. I had also bought a crapload of MS points and bought DLC and stuff. And now its all gone...they sold the XBOX and I basically just wasted my money.

Ah well, each to their own and I suppose you shouldn't really complain about getting presents bought for you

Oh how I wish I knew how to play the guitar. *sigh*

Lol that's pretty much been the first item suggested on this thread so far and I can't even play it. ;)
Thanks though.

For everyone else I know and myself its just a natural progression... you don't get as much when you get older. Partly because as I said; you have your own money, and when you want bigger things you have the luxury of being able to go out and buy them when you want them and not having to wait around for Christmas or Birthdays so your parents can buy them for you. You know.. Independence. You still recieve gifts obviously, I never said you stopped getting things full stop, you just don't get "big" presents. It's all stuff like socks, aftershave and books.

Your parents have more money than sense if they keep throwing TVs, games consoles and computers at you when you're older.
