I don't claim to be an expert in pulling off comedy but being a bit more subtle there and less over the top jumping up and down and I might have believed it was real. XD

Personally I feel that it was staged. It started off okay, but when he failed to slam any doors, throw anything, break anything, or doing anything over the top that he might later regret, I decided I didn't believe it.
