So, college is in about three weeks and I would like a mouse to go with my new laptop.

What I'm looking for is:
Large enough for my big hand
Scroll wheel
Laser
Wired
At least one side/thumb button.
Under $50 USD

A quick search at Newegg got me this, just wondering what else might be a good mouse for me to use.

What is a side button? What is it used for?

A quick back button for web surfing. My current mouse has one so I want something I'm used to.

I can never make up my mind whose form factor I like better, Logitech or Microsoft. I've had 2 MX-518's (same shape as the one you picked) and they both died within 18 months (on a third now used for my non-gaming mouse and it's going on 2.5 years almost). I think it's because in my games I'm a rather hard clicker. So take this into account when picking the Logitech.

Here is the gaming mouse that I use: Microsoft Laser Habu

Try the Razor Deathadder, unless you are left-handed. Razor may be the Alienware of computer mice, but I've been using the Deathadder since they came out and they are big and comfortable and have very smooth tracking. At least now they are actually worth the pricetag.

I'd say go with Razer or Steelseries mouse. I think you get some of the older models under 40.

Totally forgot about this thread. I got the Razer Deathadder. It's awesome! But toning down the pointer speed due to the high sensitivity makes my touchpad really slow.
