Almost missed the boat on this one. BUT IM HERE NOW.

So i got to level 50 odd on WOW and haven't really gone further. It's a good game but it's never hooked me and kept my interest. SINCE then I've been keeping an eye out for MMOGs because i rather like the idea and i think if it can be done right then it'll be something that I'll be playing 5 years from now.

Problem is a lot do just seem to have the same formula as WOW which isn't bad it happens in all things you get a formula that works and proves popular and you run with it. Problem is that formula doesn't do it for me. So naturally Warhammer, WOW, conan, aion, guild wars there all just..bleh.

So i hear about Champions online start to look into it and this seems to be my game. I can try to explain it but honestly it's better if i flood you with youtube videos that show you what its about;

Truly unique characters:
Create your very own super hero
NCreate your ultimate Nemesis

Awesome powers these are just a few of the ones you can have and this is not and i mean NOT classes,there are no classes; you can mix and match powers to suit what you want:
Power armour; Reminds me of Ironman
Sorcery powers
Swinging powers
Elemental powers
Tunneling

This is it's version of instances called "lairs";
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hHD5alDYAY

PVP;
Hero games

Although i realize theres bound to be a bunch of kids playing and giant nerds too i can look past this. Because I'm also a complete dork when it comes to this ****..that and I'm going to create the most badass cool looking super hero ever and kick the **** out of little children and nerds.

This isn't ever going to be as popular as WOW but that really doesn't matter. When i can fly around the world, with my cape flapping in the wind slaming down and kicing bad guys ***** or even my own nemesis I'm happy. I should point out the combat isn't like traditional MMOGs either it's more action/rpg. Thank god for that.

Open beta starts august 16th i believe. Launches sept. So preordering this.

check out game details and more videos here:

Anyone else interested?

I am now :D

This game looks pretty cool. I never thought I'd see so much customization in a game, but this really does take it to a new level, and I like it :P

Rofl, a super hero MMO?

I would never in my life try out a super hero MMO, that's going to be nerd central. I can just picture a character that looks all pink and blue or something ugly and then seeing a nerd on the other end of the PC with glasses and always snorting and stuff. So stereotypical, but so true.

Have fun with it, Creepy.

YOU STOLE MY CHARACTER IDEA.

I did consider how nerdy this might look to someone when I'm playing it. Then i realized it's about even with the whole elfs and orcs fighting...dragons and ****.

If someone I don't want to know that I play WoW walks in my room and sees me raiding or something, I would say "HOLY **** DUDE COME CHECK THIS OUT! Dude look at this! *clicks an AoE spell that looks really cool* ISN'T THAT **** SWEET?! Check this out, too! *clicks on AoE spell that looks even cooler* THAT'S SO COOL RIGHT?" "Hayeels yeeeee"

I downloaded City of Heroes (also by playNC) a while ago, its soo fun. But it's too pricy for me so I can't really play :(
All of their games are very similar, though.

Well there previous two games heroes and villains are linked. That's why they are similiar. This one plays very differently apparently. The thing i like most is it goes the Eve route in that your all on one server.

It's a clever idea because this game wont have mass appeal, it'll be lucky to get over 500k subs if that. And the games being designed with that in mind; All on one server, 5 player instances, small team games..i like that there not aiming big. A lot of MMOGs start with 10+ instances and have all these ideas that require teamwork and wind up having to merge servers together and even then it can be tricky to find groups. Shouldn't happen with this.

I saw an ad for it on FaceBook. It said, "Love Pokemon? Then you'll love Champions!"

I clicked on the ad, and I noticed that it wasn't anything like Pokemon, so I exited out.

And that was my Champions adventure.

Travel powers listed. I was after flight myself but now i've seen it i think I'd prefer the teleport/super jump/fire flight.

Meh, I will still always go back to CoX whenever I need my superhero MMO fix. This one looks a little to bubbly and cartoonish.
