I'm guessing it'll be more to do with foot placement than anything else. It is after all just some crappy pressure board. The buttons on the side are no doubt to be pressed when your wanting to grab your board in the air or something.

Yeah, I just don't see anyone being able to coordinate their moves that well with it, they'd have to do like a melon, while finding the right button to press at the same time XD

I don't think that you'll have to use the buttons to do a trick. Maybe it'll be some sort of advanced technology that it is like a real skateboard. Either that or there's some cord they've blocked behind the skateboard, that you connect to your Xbox 360 controller, or whatever.

If you don't quite get what I'm saying, let me explain. Say that you are in the menus, you pick up the board and do whatever it is you have to do to play. Then you get on the board and start playing, and then after awhile there'll be some sort of popup saying "GOOD JOB, YOU DID THIS EASY THING THAT NOBODY ELSE COULD DO BECAUSE THIS IS TONY HAWK" like all other Tony Hawk game. So you pick the board back up, hit the "Ok, I read this" button that it tells you to, and you keep playing.

Ya, well it's going to be funny to watch i think. Either that or lame. Or both.

I've not seen it done on the wii, no idea how they handled it. One thing is for sure it wont be anything like skateboarding.

I suppose the lack of wheels gave that bit away but ya. So i hope they allow you to use the controller if they stick to the over the top wackyness that was tony hawk i might give it a buy but I'm not interested in buying that stupid thing.

Speaking of Activision and Guitar Hero

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/983/983286p1.html

Anyways I never really liked Tony Hawk games to begin with (even back when it was still considered a respectable and a great franchise). When it comes to skating games I love the Skate series. I started with the original on PS3 and then moved on 360 with Skate 2. I instantly fell in love with the franchise and don't think will be trying Tony Hawk games for a while.

You have to admit that the board does actually look quite awesome.

That sounds quite strange. I mean, what if you don't mean to put it over a particular section? What if it's off by like an inch, and then it does a trick different from the one you intended? It sounds like it's a bit complicated. I'd also prefer to use the controller.

I think it's just a thing where they have these "real life simulators" as a gimmick. Lets be honest, it started with the steering wheel in arcades, but that was popular, and worked well, so other "peripherals" started popping up, like guns, sensor pads, and other assorted things. After awhile, they run out of good ideas for new peripherals, and then they come up with something like this.

Well you can see what appear to be the sensors on the board..theres only 4 of them and there far apart. So you wont be accidently doing them..it does seem very very limited though. I mean at most you can use your feet on two of them at once.

As for why this came about..I think it has something to do with amount of money there making off guitar hero. Activision has afterall said all it wants to do is exploit the same games year in year out what better way than to do this. I mean think about it if it proves big they can start making the same game under a different pro skaters name and throw in a board similiar to the one they happen to use.

It's an already proven strategy they just need to make the game simple enough and easy enough for everyone to be able to play it and master it. Which going by the board they've probably done so.

Least thats how I'm seeing it.

Guitar Hero = what you just said, except not so easy to master.

Well..it depends how good your memory is really.

Anyways;
http://kotaku.com/5262273/tony-hawk-rid ... exclusive-in-britain

"Exclusive" in the UK. I really wish Microsoft would stop doing this. It's not exclusive and frankly it's becoming insulting that they keep fobbing this stuff off as exclusive when a few months down the line it's going to hit the other consoles anyway. Your userbase is not made up of goldfish, we don't suddenly forget it was supposed to be exclusive.

I would much prefer they they did something that would actually benefit us rather than throwing money at a timed exclusive.

Beating Ninja Gaiden on the hardest difficulty requires no skill what so ever, all you have to do is memorize every enemy location and every enemy movement and every combo, and then time them correctly. hurp durp

No idea what this has to do with TH i think your just a bit confused uh..I'll explain Ninja gaiden to you then we can get back on topic; Well yeah knowing the moves is a very important part of beating Ninja gaiden. Knowing the enemies moves helps too.

Course the enemy A.I makes them unpredictable, there never in the same place, they never do the same thing and thats what makes it challenging.

I mean they don't follow a strict set path..like..say 5 enemies running in a straight line, each being a different colour and you simply have to press one single button in time to defeat them. I mean...that would be way to easy i could just memorize the order they run at me in and I'd have it mastered in 1, perhaps 2 plays. That'd be really boring actually.

I dunno, maybe you got ninja gaiden confused i mean this is the game you mean right;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq6uv_RFlmA

If you need any help with NG, or if your just confused and got the wrong game that's cool too but I'd appreciate it if you just privae messaged me for my help instead of posting off topic in my thread. Thankss
