Well I finally decided to get some brushes for my copy of photoshop, and I downloaded a few (see attatched image). So I'd like to know, what are your favorite brushes?

And do you have any recommendations for a PS nub? :D

(gotta figure out how to install the things now  )

note: anything with red over it isnt a brush.

Yeah if you want some good quality brushes use the ones Harkaan has linked to, I use them too. Especially the ka05 splat ones. :P
Normally I actually use stocks more than brushes because its more challenging and I work with stocks a lot better but here are some great brushes I use sometimes:

Some more on my favourites on dA somewhere. :P
Also, if you're looking for some high-quality photo stocks (and there's whole packs of them!) check out resurgere on dA.

How would I go about installing these on GIMP? I would like to use them but I can't afford photoshop.

First of all, the brushes we've linked to are photoshop brushes, so they won't work in gimp, but some have been converted to the gimp brush format so you can use them aswell. The best safe and reliable place to download them would have to be the deviantART page. These also look promising.

As for actually downloading and using them, refer to this:

Hope that helps. :)

They do work. I figured it out and you just install them as on that tutorial and they appear. They may be a different file type but they work mighty fine. :D im still **** at making sigs though
