Halo 3: Recon

About the Master Chief, in the video, there is something displaying Sierra 117 (Spartan 117 and his squad name) and co-ordinates.

That's what an expansion pack is it's a new campaign mode, new characters is a choice of the dev.

Why would they brag "new campaign"? If it's a whole new game then..that's a bit of a duh moment don't you think?

And it's not set during Halo 3, it's set between 2 and 3, it's that gap where Mr chiefykins was at the Halo leaving the humans on earth to fight the covenant, so the name doesn't really make much sense either.

I'm not ruling it out, I've just seen 0 evidence saying it's a full game, we'll have to wait for gameplay footage, personally I hope it is a small tactical game but I'm expecting first person shooter, even the "new character" looks very similar to MC

Creepy makes the most sense here. First news I heard about it was "a brand new campaign". Who says that about a new game? When I talk about Fable II do I say "it has a brand new storyline and new characters!"? But then again, Bungie is a bunch of retards so you never know...

Well, first of all, Fable II is pretty self explanationary. Only by having the "II" in there.

So what about Recon? It's Halo 3 (THREE) Recon. God knows what that was before it was cleared up, in for example, this trailer here.

It could've been some dumb multiplayer expansion or something. By saying "brand new campaign and new characters", it just tells that it's a brand new game. AND THEREFORE NOT AN EXPANSION. Because again, there's no relations to Halo 3 and therefore it should in no way be an expansion.

Bungie has announced Halo 3 Reacon to be Expansion pack, not a new game.

Now, I can say, WTF BUNGIE. Your making a new game, new mechanics, and some new weapons, yet the multiplayer is gonna be with spartans? WHAT THE HELL? It's taking you 2 years just to make a game with new campaign? wow. Okkkk.

That is ***** of the highest calibur my friends. I am highly disapointed with Bungie at the moment.

The only good thing, is that it wont be a full $60, slightly more reaosnable..

Halo 3: Recon development didn't begin until Spring 2008, a while after Halo 3's release.

There are no plans to continue the storyline with SPARTAN-117. The whole point of H3:R was to please fans begging for more Halo.

It depends on what you consider a full game. Halo 3: Recon will be on a separate retail disc and have the full 1000 gamerscore. It will have its own campaign, but will use the Halo 3 multiplayer. It will not be the full new game price of $60.

Personally I'm semi excited, it all comes down to two things though:

1)How long is this campaign.
2)How much.

That'll be the difference between "yup there leeching off us" and great game.

They did this because a lot of people wanted to know what happened between when MC was going to the Ark and the start of Halo 3.

H3:R will show us this.

Theysaid it wont be the the full $60, I estimate possibly 40 or 30.
