because i dont know of many, if any middle/high school/college students
that would do it just because Obama said so.

It said he will set a goal, not pass a law. That article is overspeculating in many ways. Setting a goal could mean instituting programmes within schools that strongly encourage volunteering.

Once again as MQ said, it's a goal, not a law. It doesn't mean it's even going to happen.

The point still stands. Where does he state that he would make this mandatory? He doesn't. If you want to blow this out of proportion for the sake of being angry over something, then go right ahead. The fact remains though.

im not trying to blow anything out of proportion or being angry for no reason if i was i would have titled it "OBAMA WANTS SLAVES HES A ******!!!!" do you think he would go ahead and say it would be a law right now? hell no. he would lose so many votes its not even funny.
im not saying he is going to make it a law, or even do it...i was just trying to freaking ask if i was reading it wrong. calm down.......

That's nothing.. If he was saying he wanted you to do service 5 hours a day, 6 days a week, then maybe that's something to get worked up over. Two hours less a week you'll have to waste playing computer games and two hours a week you'll actually spend doing something that will probably benefit your lives in the long run. OH THE HORROR!

I just think you're taking it the wrong way because you have a biased opinion.

You don't like Obama, so you're going to take it the wrong way.
