I was just looking a few things up on these medals here not knowing to much about them myself. I found something quite interesting about the Victoria Cross. Canada has there own. Shocker to me. But what it say is, how would you say.. a let down?

The Victoria Cross (post-nominal letters VC) is the highest award for valour that can be awarded to members of the Canadian armed forces of any rank in any service, and allies serving under or with Canadian military command. Based on the British version of the VC, it is only awarded for extraordinary valour and devotion to duty while facing a hostile force. Since its creation in 1993, no one has been awarded the Canadian Victoria Cross. Until 1993, the British VC was awarded to 94 Canadians, none of whom are now living.

Now trying to patriotic as I can be I love reading about these kinda things. As I read further the only way to really get a medal was to be brave, courageous. You know what I'm talking about that stuff you can do in video games and you figure no human can do or will do, and they give it to the people that do just that. And to certain degrees to.

But I think Canada is finally starting to notice there wounded and dead. So this new medal is like I said before, "It's about time."

Oh and if you want to look some of same stuff I was looking at. Here and here. (Wiki Links)

Well im not 100% sure about this but i think this is how it works, if anybody is wounded in combat and is treated by a American medic you get the purple heart. So if a Uk solider is wounded in Iraq and treated in the field by a us medic he is a purple heart recipient.

I've never heard of that before. Sounds a bit ify and confusing. Doesn't sound rite. Where did you hear that from?

Just what i heard, prolly from this history channel.

And from looking through looking different things and talking to my dad, who was in the Military for 19 years, says it true.
