The Pic above is taken from a SOTW entry. Im just using it as an example.

How do u make the spiky bits in that sig?

And in a sig (for example) like the one below...

Image

How do you get the wavy sort of lines in there?

And also while I'm at it, I've had a go at trying to do it, but how do you recolour pictures? :? [/img]

i've never done this before since i'm a bit of a newbie at photoshop myself... but by the looks of the things, to add the spike i believe you have to use some kind of brush... or you can try to liquify it...

for the wave i think it's the same thing...

and for the one thing i know for sure is how to recolour:

press ctrl+u to bring up hue/saturation. change the hue to change the color. change the saturation to change the intensity of the colour

Thanx, I was also thinking myself about liquifying it and it's just struck me that it actually would work... but can anyone confirm that information?

They aren't made in Photoshop... They're made in a 3d program, maya, 3ds max, cinema 4d and lightwave are the most common ones. I use 34d mostly, but I have maya and 3ds max too :) .
The bottom one, could be any combination of wave filter, blend modes, opacity, layer masks, and any other numbe of effects in PS. Also could be edited 3d render as well as the first image, there are definate parts of it that look like that

My Avatar is done on ImageReady... It's like one of the simplest things you can do with it lol

Just get ur 3 images u want to use and then go into Imageready.

Go into the "windows" menu and make sure u have "Animation" open.

Insert your 3 images as different layers.

The layer on top should appear on the Animation box.

In the Layers box, next to the different layers there are eyes.

The layer you are using for the first frame should have an eye next to it and all the others should be blank. If they arent just click on the eyes to disable them.

In the Animation box make a new frame and then make sure the layer you want in this frame has an eye next to it.

And repeat this for as many layers as you want. It can get a bit difficult putting text in and changing positions around but keep at it and you'll get it eventually.

then at the end select how long you want each frame to display for. For example, my frames all display for exactly 1 second each. The times are selected below the Animation frames.

Good luck!
