You cannot get external memory.
Random access memory (usually known by its acronym, RAM) is a type of computer data storage. Today it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow the stored data to be accessed in any order, i.e. at random. The word random thus refers to the fact that any piece of data can be returned in a constant time, regardless of its physical location and whether or not it is related to the previous piece of data.[1]

This contrasts with storage mechanisms such as tapes, magnetic discs and optical discs, which rely on the physical movement of the recording medium or a reading head. In these devices, the movement takes longer than the data transfer, and the retrieval time varies depending on the physical location of the next item.

You must be talking about hard drive space.
A hard disk drive (HDD), commonly referred to as a hard drive, hard disk, or fixed disk drive,[1] is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Strictly speaking, "drive" refers to a device distinct from its medium, such as a tape drive and its tape, or a floppy disk drive and its floppy disk. Early HDDs had removable media; however, an HDD today is typically a sealed unit (except for a filtered vent hole to equalize air pressure) with fixed media.[2]

I think what you want is an External Hard Drive.
An external hard disk drive is a type of hard disk drive which is externally connected to a computer, and may be portable. External hard disk drives are connected to the computer using a cable which is compatible with Small Computer System Interface (SCSI), Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE), Universal Serial Bus (USB), IEEE 1394 (Firewire), CAT-3 or CAT-5 cable (Ethernet), eSATA or other bus standards.[1]

Now if you do want an External Hard Drive then I suggest the Eagle Tech E-Series ET-CS500ESU2-SG 500GB 7200 RPM USB 2.0 External Hard Drive on NewEgg. I purchased this model and it works great and it only costs $81.99 + $10.59 shipping.

The actual size is 465gb but that is because distributors classify 1 kb as 1000 bytes, 1mb as 1000kb and 1gb as 1000mb. You get that with all hard drives now-aday.

Western Digital makes some very good (and reasonably-priced) externals.

I talked to the western digital guys at macworld conference and they said that Costco.com has the lowest prices in the world for their hard drives (in January) western digital is not really the cheapest but I know that they are good as we have 3 western digital my books in are house..... and a hard drive I build from a used drive they had at are local computer store if you are even a little tech savvy some times its much much cheaper to buy a drive and put it in a case.
if not look at these.

just looked at Costco.com and they are no longer the cheapest

I would suggest doing what bhh2000 said as long as you don't mind installing (and possibly formatting) the hard drive yourself.

That is true, HOWEVER, I have heard of a windows app that allows you to use a memory stick as added "memory". Mind you it would be more like the swap of a *nix computer than memory and the speeds wouldn't be as great at a stick of memory but I believe flash is faster than hard disks, which a swap partition will use.

Yes you could probably take a Memory Stick, SD Card or even a Flash Drive and use it as swap and it would be faster than the normal windows page file because it would be electronic/digital instead of needing to go to the Hard Drive which uses mechanical platters and a mechanical arm to read and write. But it would be slower than the RAM inside the computer.
