Karl 67 decided to kill the enemies and keep the portal under allied guard. Before he could do that, however, the guarding monsters spotted him.

"Shoot..." he muttered as he whipped out his sword. Before he could do anything, the enemies called for backup. This is definitely going to be a tough fight.

Before they could call anymore, Karl 67 leaped into the room and stabbed through a black knight. He kicked another black knight away and swung in a wide arc, throwing the knight still impaled across the room. A Dark beast tackled Karl 67, sending both of them out of the door. The crystal elf kicked it off and shoved his blade through the beast, killing it instantly.

A mace smashed through his head from behind, knocking out the elf instantly. He kept his death-grip on his precious sword, while the reinforcements closed in to capture the intruder.

-----

"So HE'S the third intruder. Throw him in the cell, like the other two." a disturbingly familiar voice ordered.

"Other two...?" Karl 67 thought. Could Alex and Gia have been captured as well? Odd for the duo.

The elf felt himself get thrown into the cell, and then he slowly got up. He noticed one of his eyes was missing. Upon closer examination, about a third of his crystal head was smashed off. Karl 67 seemingly said something, which turned out to be too loud to entice deafness or actually make a noticeable sound. His head started to regenerate until he was back to normal. He then checked his surroundings. He was in a cell specially designed to resist damage. Karl 67 noted that he still had his death-grip on his sword. Chances are that if they left him with the sword, it would not exactly be able to break through the cell wall. Either that or no one in the group was able to hold onto the sword correctly, due to their lack of skill with handling the sword.

Either way, he couldn't get out of the cell alone. However, he was exactly that: alone.

They were rusty. They were incapable. It was as simple as that. Despite continuous training alone on the island, it was still nothing compared to the real thing. It's impossible to train oneself to become the perfect warrior if you don't experience live danger, for without the experience of the incredible randomness of the battlefield, all that the trainee has to rely on is knowledge and common sense. That would take too long for his body to operate and react accordingly. Such a situation usually involved a quick death on the field. Or worse.

Alex 43 woke up expecting capture, and sure enough, there he stood in the jail cell, separated from his beloved spear (at the cost of some black knights who experienced a mighty inconvenient discharge [refer to lightning bolts mentioned in previous post for details]) which lay alone in the corner of the room alongside Gia's rithlyte blade and his own backpack. A number of dents and scrapes on the wall notified Alex that Karl had attempted to break through the cell wall with his sword, which for some reason he kept, but to no avail.

Gia woke up as well with the same reaction as Alex: curiosity. Where was he? How did he get there? Is everyone all right? And how would he help to get them all out? Curiosity and pain. It hurt everywhere. Closer examination found many of his crystal-white scales stained with blood in several places. He took the majority of the hits during the ambush, but they just kept having at him until he physically could no longer fight. Now he was suffering the consequence. And it hurt.

There sat a guard and foe Alex 43 could only just faintly recognize, but a careful examination told him that even if he tried a magnet recall of his spear against her, she (or it?) would strike with incredible agility. She was no normal guard. Her eyes were boring into his, and he broke eye contact quickly and instead tended to Gia. Unlike letting repairable armor take damage and become mended by the hammer, Gia was a biological being, and therefore needed first aid with injury. Medicine, more or less. However, the large cuts Gia endured throughout the attack would have to heal themselves, for his backpack too was out of range.

Ah, what the heck. He'll try it.

"Yo, can you pass me one of my medicinal potions?" he called to the nearby presence.

"Ha! Fat chance." was Darkrascal's reply.

He tried. Can't blame him. Better resort to some simple healing magics, then.

Alex 43 poured his energy stored in his symbol into Gia's wounds to help stop the bleeding and ease the pain. It takes a lot to hurt Gia, and because of that, it takes a lot to heal him. This was how White Dragons worked, after all. Because they hardly got so hurt, their bodies natural evolution process involved slow regeneration due to inactivity. He had created a few potions specially for Gia in such a circumstance, but the one time he needed them, he couldn't access.

Darkrascal started laughing. Perhaps at Alex's attempt at healing. ... no, it was simply evil laughter, most likely. One of those situations where she couldn't help but look back at the current situation, realize she's got three of Runescape's greatest heroes imprisoned and under her mercy, and she just can't help but laugh at the opportunity. Yes, perhaps she'll start firing magic spells at them, just to humor herself. Or she'll insult them. Alex was in no position to call it unfair.

All he could do now was wait. Wait and hope something would save them.

And it would be a miracle if something really did ...

...

...

"Hmph. Wish they'd label these things."

It was several years since he's been here. For good reason, too. He disliked the place, and everything to do with it. It was a miracle he didn't just break it open and been done with it. Heck, it housed him, it fed him, and it taught him. If anything, he had a heart. A small one, but a heart nevertheless. He had even gone through the trouble to come back when he knew he was done with the place forever.

Unfortunately, the Varrock Castle Dungeons were the only place he could remember clearly enough to go to that was comparatively close to his objective. Reason being; he hated them more then anywhere else. Such an annoying labyrinth of doors, cells, and halls. Each door led to a series of new cells or a cell itself. With very few torches to go around, it was a wonder there weren't any skeletons of guards anywhere after being stranded for weeks in this maze of imprisonment.

The place had changed. Dramatically, to say the least. He remembered it once bustled with human life. Either they had evolved (thank goodness for that), or they had been over-run by these interesting creatures (about time). Instead of armored humans, large creatures with fur, wings, tails, claws, and all other assortments of limbs and bodily features one wouldn't naturally see on a human lumbered around the area. They were commenting and remarking about an odd little fact, hoping to gain some recognition amidst their fellow guard, but he took no care towards them.

Let them dream. Useless creatures ... if only they knew ...

No matter if they were to be ally or enemy, he avoided detection regardless. He didn't want anybody, and he meant anybody to see him. Especially since he was already considered dead by mostly all, and such was a status he wanted to keep.

It was a simple errand. Wouldn't even last a few minutes. Then he would be gone. Simple as that. Even he, with such impatience and short-tempering, could do this without losing control.

He came for something. Something he forgot.

Something he wanted to bring back.

Provided he could find his way out of this annoying dungeon, of course.

He turned the corner and was immediately confronted by one of those furry creatures. It stared at him, confused on whether or not to call it friend or foe, since it hasn't seen the likes of him before. A pity, he thought as he silently drove the creature headfirst into the concrete wall effortlessly, that it had to meet him when he was in one of his moods. He left it to immobilized suffocation after sealing the wall up again and proceeded unchanged by the experience. Not something he hadn't done before, but he still liked to diversify a bit.

It didn't matter. That creature no doubt would've met its end some other gruesome way. This way, it was a lot less messy and better for the soil.

Another corner and another dead end block of cells. He was getting annoyed. Very annoyed. But this corner housed something. A presence. He felt it. He recognized it.

He knew it.

Him.

Lawrence began laughing with Darkrascal. Not only because he mused at Alex's situation but because it seemed contagious.

"My, evil laughter is quite contagious!" He said.

"Heh. Look at him. Trying to help his friend. How pathetic. I ALMOST feel bad for him... Not!" She said with a wicked smile. She grabbed a medicinal potion from the bag and held it in front of Alex just out of reach.

"Is this what you wanted?" She asked. Alex said nothing.

"Well... Too bad!" She said smashing the vile on the wall behind her.

"Your just so darn evil! I love it!" Lawrence said with a smile as he hugged her.

"I know!" She said hugging him back.

"Say, You continue watching these guys and I'll make you something good to eat. Sound good to you?" Lawrence said.

"OK!" She said and Lawrence went off to make her something to eat.

Karl 67 continued slashing at the seemingly invincible wall that kept the trio in their cell. For every slash mark he makes, about a minute later, it disappears. The wall could regenerate! No wonder this was such a good prison.

"You're so pathetic!" the oh-so familiar Darkrascal called into the cell, obviously referring to Karl 67.

"Says the one who can't say that without being behind a door!" Karl 67 retorted.

He had hoped that the taunt would annoy Darkrascal enough to try to open the door and say it to his face, allowing a perfect chance for escape. After all he was more agile than cats could ever hope to be, and he knew Zamorak wouldn't waste his time for such a "useless" skill.

However, what he had hoped for did not even come close to happening. Darkrascal, despite being young and relatively fragile, she either knew what was being planned, or just continued laughing to try to think she won the battle of words.

"So you do that even beside your own forces?" Karl 67 asked, "If you do, I think you'd be quite the annoyance in your group."

"Shut up. I'm laughing because it's quite ironic. We captured three veteran war heroes from world wars," the evil cat-girl replied.

"It took you how long, and with how many armies? Three characters is hardly worth the millions upon millions of dead soldiers of your allegiance, not to mention the Eastern soldiers."

Darkrascal became silent, she then realized all Karl 67 was trying to do is taunt her into entering the cell to beat him up. Or, in Karl 67's sense, attempt to beat up someone with many times more fighting experience and skill than her, yet ultimately fail, as Karl 67 had his sword.

"A question though, and I would prefer that you answer it truthfully and not try to taunt: Where are the crystal seeds?"

"Wouldn't you like to know?"

"Yes! I would like to know! Are you scared to answer a question that doesn't even do anything in the future?"

"No."

"Then why not answer it?"

"Cause I don't want to."

"Has it ever occurred to you that neither you, nor your dude, has even come close to taking part to our capture? You must be that lazy to not even answer a question, let alone sit on your lazy behinds waiting for things to get done. Considering that, I could easily beat you up in hand-to-hand combat. You want to try, or do you want to answer that questi-?"

"Okay, fine! It's out here, on a table."

"Good."

"Why do you want to know?"

"You wouldn't understand unless you killed as many people as I did... or watch as many people die as I did. Nubby nub!"

The last comment, Karl 67 hoped would snap that twig that was her temper, but it didn't. At least he knew where the crystal seeds were. He felt more relaxed now, knowing he could still save them... provided he could break out the bloody cell anyways...

Lawrence came back with a bowl of curry.

"That elf is starting to get on my nerves..." Darkrascal thought to Lawrence as she ate the curry. He simply patted her head.

"Don't let him get to you. After all, you're not the one in the cell." Lawrence thought back. "Why don't you go relax? I have better patience with the prisoners anyway." Lawrence said.

"Ok. I'll let you take charge then." She said leaving the room and leaving Lawrence with them.

"So how is every one? I don't really make for good conversation but at least I won't laugh at you." Lawrence said.

Michael, Momsrascal, and Elise walked to the ladder to go back up to the surface of Entrana. When they got there Momsrascal noticed that the ladder was broken.

"But it was in perfect condition when we came down here." Elise asked with a puzzled look.

"Odd thing about this dungeon," Michael said, "is that the ladder is always broken when you want to leave. Whether this is because the zombies (which are supposed to be here) break it or because there is some magic about this place I don't know."

"Well I could climb out if you boosted me," Momsrascal said turning to Michael, "and then you could hand Elise up to me."

"Yes, that would work. Or," He said turning to Elise, "would you please set up a ladder, Elise?"

"Sure!" She said with a joyful jump. She walked over to where the base of the ladder used to be. As she started to climb (At first it looked like she was imitating a Mime mimicking someone climbing a ladder), earth came up from the floor and created a ladder. Each time Elise needed a new step one was built.

"What all can she do with her abilities?" Momsrascal asked as she started to climb up behind Elise.

"Only a few basic things right now," Michael said dropping into the ground "since we haven't done much training." He continued as he popped up on the surface, right after Momsrascal finished climbing up "She knows some offensive and defensive abilities, as well as a few useful ones like a ladder. Over time she'll learn how to use her abilities in everyday use, without even thinking about it." He finished.

The trio walked past the Law ruins and through the Church, where they were stopped by the High Priest.

"Hello, that didn't take long." He said

"That is an odd thing for him to say." Elise thought to Michael

"Yes." He replied back to her.

After a pause, the High Priest spoke again, "Did you find anything down there?"

"It's what we didn't find that was strange." Momsrascal said

"Oh?" He said, looking slightly puzzled, "and what was that?"

"No creatures were in the cave, not even rats or bats." Michael said

"Well we did see-" Elise started

"Don't tell him about the secret cave." Michael warned her telepathically

"Ok, but why?" Elise asked in reply

"I'll explain later." He replied

"What did you see?" The Priest asked, looking rather sharply at Elise. He seemed to be studying her intently.

"We," She started, but paused and looked up at Michael and then Momsrascal.

"She's scared." Momsrascal thought to herself.

"We saw some Lichen." Michael said

"Lichen?" The Priest asked, honestly confused.

"Moss, Elise is a smart girl and loves learning new things." Momsrascal said "She wanted to tell you about her new discovery."

"Lichen! Isn't it a neat name? Lie-kin! It's really spelled l-i-c-h-e-n, but it's pronounced liken!" Elise said in the way only a 6 year old could.

Momsrascal and Michael smiled.

"Well," the Priest said with a chuckle "it seems like we've learned something. I hope the noise we heard was just the wind."

"I hope so to."

In a few minutes the three of them were on a ship for Port Sarim.

"Why didn't you want me to tell the Priest about the cave?" Elise asked as they walked to the boat to Karamja.

"Did you see how he acted?" Michael asked "He spoke as if he was expecting us to be longer."

"Yea, I noticed that." Momsrascal said "Why do you think he said that?

"I don't know, he acted very strangely when Elise started to talk about what we found."

"Yea, very suspicious." Momsrascal said

They approached the Karamjian sailors.

"3 Passengers to Karamja please." Michael asked, taking out 45 coins.

"Sure, Sir, that'll be 90 coins please." The sailor said

"90? You raised your rates?" Michael asked with a wink to Elise.

"No, but there are three of you, that would be 90 coins."

"Since when does Karamja charge Star Knights?"

"Oh! I didn't know. Please forgive me. You all can go on free of charge." The Sailor said embarrassed.

"No, you made an honest mistake since I am not wearing uniform. Here's half the price." Michael said handing the man 45 coins.

They boarded the ship and were off to Karamja.

The reason they went to Karamja instead of straight to Kailenia is because Port Sarim is not a big enough port to support an Elduvian ship always being docked there, Ardougne however, is. Ardougne's port is actually much more active then most people think, though you rarely see more then one ship there at a time. There are always ships coming and going through it.

Once they landed at Karamja they started walking to Brimhaven, to catch a ship to Ardougne. When they reached Brimhaven they took a ship to Ardougne, and not long after arriving there they were able to take a ship to Kailenia.

Momsrascal relaxed when she was on any mode of transportation that wasn't walking(which she did alot of) or teleporting(Elise's tele other spells). Weather is was the calming rocking of a ship at at sea or the exhilarating feel of the gnome glider, she always like to give her feet a break when she could. She soon fell asleep in the crows nest, waiting to arrive at their destination.

The door opened. Slowly.

Lawrence peered over. Hm, did Darkrascal come back for a final laugh? Or did she forget something? Perhaps someone's coming in to deliver a guard report. Bah, they are annoying. He decided he would continue to watch the prisoners and give no visual attention.

It finished opening.

"What is it?" asked Lawrence, not taking his eyes off the cell.

The response was dead silence.

"Darkrascal, don't even try. I know you're there." he sighed, annoyed.

More silence. Even Alex 43 looked through the door. Nothing. Not even a shadow off a torch flickering in the outside hallway. Lawrence shrugged. The door must've fallen open by itself because it wasn't closed properly. He slammed it shut, locked it from the inside, and returned to his position.

The torches went out. All at once; casting the room in complete darkness. Lawrence immediately pulled out his sword and stood in battle stance, pacing to the middle of the room. The only remaining source of light originated from Gia's eyes, Karl's sword, and Alex's Star Symbol. They had no idea what was happening either, but for the door to open alone and the torches to go out all at once, obviously something was wrong. Alex felt it. Lawrence felt it. They all felt it.

Someone ... or something, was in the room with them.

"Seems like the tables have turned-" Karl began.

"Shut up!" Lawrence shouted, focusing his sword forward after giving a threatening gesture. All he needed was a little bit of light ...

"Dark Flame!" he shouted, casting the room into a dark purple hue due to a large floating flame he conjured. It was still fairly dark, but at least the room was illuminated.

And still nothing. He scanned the corners of the room, checked the equipment, and looked through the jail cell. All the time, he had his sword out, focused and shaking threateningly, ready to strike at the first impression of movement. The flame hovered near the roof, casting its evil purple light all around. Just looking at it gave Alex a headache.

Finally, after several minutes of cautious searching, Lawrence reached a conclusion. Satisfied that nothing and nobody was there, he sheathed his sword again and returned to his seat.

Only problem; it was occupied.

All four of them stared. Lawrence, Alex, Karl, and Gia. They didn't know when it entered the room; how it avoided detection; how it got into the chair. It even looked so relaxed that one would think it had been there for hours, just waiting for them to notice it.

"'Bout time you took interest in me." it mumbled, lifting its crossed leg up and casually looking over its own fur sheen for imperfections. Despite the odd purple light, it seemed as though it belonged in such a dark scenario. Almost as though the room was finally complete.

Lawrence slowly gripped his blade. One swing; one quick defenseless lunge, and it would be all over for it. He prepared himself by sinking into a low stance, ready to pounce at any time. The intruder ignored it, and instead turned towards the cell.

"Doesn't look like you changed much, Alex." it commented, ignoring Lawrence and gazing over to the cell, "Except that you're powerless, confined, and in a state of trouble. That's unlike you."

"HEY!" shouted Lawrence. He wanted to see the whites of its eyes before he divided it into cuts of meat and served them with a side of oyster sauce. Still the intruder ignored him.

"I take it you're just vacationing or something?" he asked, "No doubt you have a plan on getting out. Can it be that you've already become level 4 now, and can perform the locomotion manipulation now? Perhaps I've underestimated your dedication."

Nobody toys with Lawrence like this. NOBODY! With every last bit of strength and focus that he had, Lawrence whipped the blade out and sliced in a downwards motion. Just a split-second between movements, and one couldn't even see the blade move. There was a collision, and a bright flash of light.

Lawrence had heard the stories. He was led to believe every rumor about it, told by whatever either created its fiction or recorded its history. Some things sounded so ridiculous that one could only deter it as utterly impossible, but Lawrence, at that moment, found out it wasn't. He was witness to all these rumors, and what was true or not. All was as he heard.

The Feldip Hills did look rather nice and exotic during the summertime, even to a Zamorakian.

That was apparently where he was now. His sword was cleaved in the root system of the large palm tree in front of him. The large dirt plains just bordering the nearby sandy beach shone an interesting gradient of brown and tan, morphing into the many shades of blue and cyan for the ocean and cloudless sky. A calm breeze of wind rippled the colors together into a blended mix of matter and pigments.

He decided to take in the view and enjoy it for a moment before screaming bloody murder.

____________________________

"Now then, let's see you get out." it said.

"Um ... how?" asked Alex.

"How else? A focused blast forward." was the reply, "The disruption would cause a reflux upon the self-reparation spell and prevent it from fixing itself."

It stood up, glaring straight into Alex's visor.

"I'm sure you would at least know THAT." it threateningly said. The flame was gone, but it was replaced by a strange glowing ball of condensed material of some kind emitting from the intruder's hand.

Alex said nothing. If he let it know he hadn't been training at all, there would be no forgiveness. Focusing the energy in his star, he condensed the power and worthlessly shot it out into a large white blast, completely exhausting his energy levels.

And to great effect. The one solid, regenerative wall now contained a four-foot hole. Gia would have to squirm through, but Alex and Karl leapt in and out the other side.

"It takes a while, don't worry." it said, pleased with the result. It fetched the duo their weapons ... or rather, made the weapons fetch themselves. They literally jumped to life and simply floated over to their rightful owners. Alex took his backpack in hand and strapped it on while Gia sheathed his sword.

Then it stared at the spot the weapons originally were. Almost blindly, it walked over and felt the walls as though trying to find something that was missing as though it was invisible. However, it found nothing.

Then it grew rigid. And then quickly turned.

"Where is it?" it demanded. There was annoyance in its voice.

"Where is what?" Alex asked, tilting his helmet.

Then, suddenly, he knew the answer that he should've said.

One moment, the intruder was in the corner of the room, and in a split second, it was right in his face. Visor and large pink-glowing eyes nearly made contact.

"You haven't been training at ALL, haven't you? After so long?" it said.

"... no." Alex admitted. He knew it well. He knew that if someone admitted to a mistake, and there was only a chance you'd receive a severe punishment. However, if someone lied trying to cover the truth he already knew, punishment was guaranteed.

It was disappointed. It turned its head in a scolding, disciplinary manner. He took on an apprentice, and he didn't even seem willing to contribute his time and effort to the unique art.

"I'm sorry, but I have been training since you left! Not very much, but I have!" Alex tried. It was mostly true, he did train a bit, but with the expensive force majiya-mastery takes, it requires one to train very well every day for several hours, not a couple of hours a week.

"I'll forgive you ..." it replied. The trio began to heave a sigh of relief. Had it not forgiven him, they would most likely have to had used a chisel to get him out of the wall.

"On one condition."

Uh oh, he hated it even more when it said those words. Usually this involved some incredibly gruesome task that had to be done just because it couldn't. And there was very little it couldn't do.

"Name it." Alex offered. He disappointed the creature, who was once a good friend, so he felt it was his responsibility to make it up for it.

"Get me out of this bloody maze." it snarled, shaking it fist threateningly at a nearby wall. It fell apart on its own to reveal the hallway as though it was scared of the intruder.

"Easy." Alex said, beckoning Gia and Karl to follow. They entered the hallway and started blindly walking through the halls, ignoring doors and just moving. Alex wasn't even pausing to think about where they were going, he was just going.

"You don't even know where to go, do you?" it said, annoyed.

"Of course I don't." replied Alex, "But it's not where you go to get out of here, it's how."

"Surprise me." it shrugged.

"To ensure that prisoners couldn't get out of the Varrock maze," Alex explained, as though reading it from a book, "A very complicated magic spell was placed over the dungeon itself, so that it would continue to pose itself as an impossible maze the more the prisoner wanted out. Sort of a mind-over-matter charm."

"I see," Karl replied, "So the only way to escape would be not to want to escape."

"Not only that," Alex said, "But the escapees would have to also have it deep in their minds that they wished no harm to come to the town of Varrock in order to protect it. This way, only the guards could escape. Very much like so."

And there they were. A large door at the end of the hall. Upon opening it, a staircase was revealed that lead to a nicely lit room above.

"Very clever. For humans ..." it replied, proceeding upstairs first. Alex hesitated. He remembered Varrock was over-run, so there would obviously be nowhere safe to run. Getting out of the castle would be the easier part. Getting out of Varrock, however, a whole different story.

"Wait!" he shouted in a hushed voice, "Varrock's been over-run by Zamorakian's minions!"

It turned and looked at them with a strange expression on its face.

"But their allegiance is- ... oh, never mind. It's not safe anywhere, you're saying."

"Yes. But now that you're here, we should be fine." Karl said.

It fully turned its body towards them. Then it slowly walked down the stairs and once again gazed point-blank into their eyes. There was no excitement, no joy, not even a glimmer of humor in them. All seriousness.

"I only came back to get something." it said, "Something that I forgot. Once I have it, I'm gone."

They looked at one another in surprise and disappointment. The serious look on its face relaxed and, for the first time since Alex would remember, it showed sympathy for them.

"I'm sorry, you guys," it apologized, "But I'm not fighting any more wars for you. Not again. This problem is yours to deal with, and if you can't, then it's fate's decision that you will fail. Every mortal creature on the planet will pass on eventually, sooner or later than others, and so it will remain true that there will forever be the case of the survival of the fittest. Be you tools of the Gods or your own warrior, this won't change for any reason."

Alex nodded. He was right. This wasn't his war. He wouldn't stop him.

"However, seeing as you're in a state of trouble, and what I'm looking for is not in tis castle, I will help you get out. But that's it."

All three of them nodded and accepted his help. If he would at least do this, it was good.

"Then let us go." it said, starting up the stairs.

"Wait. One more thing." Alex said.

It turned.

"It's good to see you again, Dex." he said.

Dex smiled, "That's got to be perhaps the first time I've ever heard that from someone. Thanks."

It started to rain as Skyrate and Timrak entered the courtyard of the Tower of the White Star. Whether by some unknown force or by chance, the first drop fell as soon as their feet had stepped inside.

"A balloon?" Timrak asked as they passed Kalquemi's Hot air Ballon.

"I suppose we have a visitor." Skyrate said

"Get that balloon in shelter, they tear easily." Timrak ordered a few passing Star Knights.

The three Knights immediately picked up the balloon and took it into the nearby stables.

"Taverly, Druid" Skyrate said, watching the Knights work.

"Why do you think that?" Timrak asked.

"It's made from darker materials; see the greens and browns?" Skyrate explained

They continued to the Star Room, where Jason, Nimrock, Vigroy, and many other Generals were sitting and discussing topics.

Both Skyrate and Timrak disappeared as they walked into the room, they then reappeared in their chairs.

"Ahh, good, you've come." Jason said

"You called, what did you need?" Skyrate asked, his hood was still over his face, so he looked mysterious and sounded threatening.

"Kalquemi here, from Taverly," At this Timrak grinned at Skyrate, "says one of our Star Knights came knocking on one of the druid's houses. The Knight had many fatal wounds and is currently unconscious." Jason explained

"What were one of our knights doing there, was the Burthorpe Beacon set off?" Timrak asked.

"No, Falador." Jason said

"The Falador beacon was set off a few hours ago, so we sent a troop of Knights down there. Unfortunately, only one appears to have survived." General Nimrock said, he now had his stout.

"'Tis a fine one at that, too. If only it hadn't come on such an ill day." He had said after they had sent the Lieutenant to get Skyrate and Timrak.

"Unfortunately that is not the only trouble," General Vigroy said, "the Edgeville beacon has disappeared."

"So Falador has fallen, and Edgeville is unknown." Timrak Summed up.

"We should have a troop investigate Edgeville and talk to the guards of Varrock, to see if they saw or heard anything from Edgeville." Vigroy said

"Timrak and I will go." Skyrate said

"Should I go to?" Jason asked.

"No, you should stay here, where you are currently most useful."

Jason was young, very young compared to Skyrate and Timrak. Jason didn't have the experience or stealth possibly required for this mission. Skyrate and Timrak had both.

"When will you report back?" Vigroy asked looking at Skyrate

Skyrate looked at him, Vigroy looked away.

"When you see our faces again." Timrak said with grin, "Is there anything else we need to know before we leave?"

"Not that I can think of." Jason said, "Just," he said, looking at Skyrate who returned the glance, "becareful. We don't know what's there."

"That's what we're going to find out." Skyrate said, disappearing. His voice loomed in the air of the room for a few seconds after he had disappeared.

Momsrascal was murmuring something in her sleep...

dreamland...?
------------

The ground was ash grey. The sky was filled with black clouds. It looked like she was in Taverly!

"Oh no. So this is an other piece of the wilderness?" She thought. She looked up to see a greater demon heading for a child. She went to run and save the child, but her legs wouldn't work! She cried out in despair as she the child consumed by the demon. It then noticed her, and came for her. Her legs finally worked, and she ran out of Taverly. She saw Alex.

"What's wrong?" Dream Alex asked as if nothing was going on. Momsrascal stammered, and couldn't say anything before they were surrounded by demons.
----

She awoke with a start, and looking around her she found she was safely in the crows nest. She looked up to see a blue sky. She decided to come down from the crows nest.

"Hey Momsrascal. You usually sleep the entire trip." Elise said.

"Yea. I woke up early I guess." Momsrascal said while stretching. "How much longer until we get there?" Momsrascal asked.

"We're actually almost there." Michael said. They could see Kailenia far off in the distance.

"Gee, looks like it's raining there." Elise observed.

Dex had not changed much since the last Alex saw of him. Still short-tempered, still uncontrollable, still uncaring. Still looked the same; resembled a humanoid fox creature, but this time, he was in a tight, dark navy blue robe that let down only to his knees. Otherwise, his posture, his looks, and his ideals hadn't changed the slightest. It was as though he had never left.

One thing that had changed, though, was his power. Originally, he usually focused somewhat in order to make strange things happened. Now, they just happened without his attention. It was as though he was pulsing this dark, unnerving energy and all the objects that came into contact were somewhat influenced. Alex didn't know if he wanted to even stay close to Dex, since their majiya types were opposites.

True to his word, Dex took point. The alarm was definitely out that they had escaped, but after several "demonstrations" of what they were dealing with, Zamorak's forces experienced a new meaning to the impression of 'fear'. This creature was way more than unnatural, and it was perhaps best for the good of their forces that they leave them alone, but under careful watch. They left him alone, and he left them alone.

Dex led them to some strange places. The upstairs of the general store ("Not here ..."), the basement of the museum ("Not here, either ..."), the Saradomin church bell tower ("Oh, come on!"), and even the Blue Moon Inn storage cellar ("WHAT IS IT?!?"). With each failure to find whatever he was looking for, to which he wouldn't reveal, he got more uptight, and just seeing a demon at a distance resulted in its unwilling reconfiguration.

"Dex, if you told us what you were looking for, we could help!" Alex pleaded.

"Like I said," he replied, restraining impatience, "It's none of your business, and you wouldn't know what to look for even if I told you, so thanks, but no."

He didn't want Dex angry, because when he passed a certain limit, he even lost the care for who was ally and went against his own.

"Are you looking for that staff you gave me?" Alex asked.

"No, that was a present for you." Dex replied with annoyance, "Which you didn't bring to use."

"I'm sorry, but it was supposed to just be a quick trip to mainland. I didn't think this would all be happening-"

Dex held up a hand to silence Alex. Almost unconsciously, he reached over towards nothing in particular and his hand was enveloped by a spiral of creepy purple light. His hand vanished within, not coming out the other end, and his arm went in mostly as well. For a minute, it looked like he was feeling around, but then he found what he was looking for, gripped it, and in a quick movement, pulled out the very staff he entrusted Alex with from the small portal. He had literally stuck his arm into the chapel on the island, grabbed the staff, and pulled it out.

"Like your spear, this too is a responsibility." Dex said, handing Alex the staff, "If you ever want to be truly strong, show some dedication."

Alex thanked him and took the staff. He did this mostly to show off his ability, and that calmed him down a bit. Perhaps it was a good thing that he forgot the staff after all, but this time, he decided to actually promise Dex he would carry it like he carried his spear.

"If I ever come back for no reason and you don't have it, you realize what I'm going to have to do to you?" he asked.

Alex said nothing, but simply bowed his head. He didn't want to have to use his imagination that violently at that moment.

"I think the enemy is really scared of us now." Gia said, "I can't even pick up their scent for nearly half a kilometer."

"Are they moving out?" asked Karl.

"I don't know," said Alex, thinking aloud, "But they most likely know we're looking for something here and aren't leaving. My guess is that they've evacuated so that they can rain some sort of barrage upon us."

"Well, I certainly hope I can find what I'm looking for before them." muttered Dex.

They checked nearly every building in Varrock, upstairs and down. Not just in rooms, but in cupboards, behind wardrobes, and even in mouse-holes. With each failure to locate it, Dex once again aggrivated his rage, and Alex, Karl, and Gia were forced to somehow calm him down with conversation and unanswered questions about majiya. Sometimes Dex would even mutter that he didnt have time for this, but wouldn't acknowledge he said such a thing when asked about it.

Finally, after breaking into the vaults in the western Varrock bank, Dex perked up excitedly. Door after door of the vaults flew open on their own accord and he ran alongside them, peering into each vault. Finally, he came up to one, buckled its door, peered inside, and let out a triumphant shout. From within the vault, he produced a strange looking orb. It glowed an odd shade of yellowish green so brightly that one would think it was going to explode.

"What IS that?" asked Alex.

"What I was looking for." Dex replied, "Thank you for your help, but I'm off now."

"Wait. What about-" Karl started.

"Yes, yes, I've got that part down already." Dex replied, waving his hand to the side. A large spiral of purple distorted air appeared - a majiya portal. Unlike regular magic teleportations which involve a bounce to and from the realm of the abyss, a majiya portal involved the instantaneous locomotion of an object's existence from one area to another in less then a split second.

"Where's it lead?" asked Gia.

"Not in Varrock, I can guarantee." Dex replied.

Alex nodded. He trusted Dex wouldn't just kill them off like that.

"Thanks, buddy. I promise you, I'll at least achieve level 3 controller, even if it cripples me." Alex said.

"Just don't get yourself killed." Dex replied, "Now hurry. I don't want to miss 'the event'."

Side by side, the trio jumped in and vanished. Dex snapped his fingers, and the portal vanished.

"This is not my war, unfortunately." Dex muttered, "I hope you all understand."

Then, he turned and walked slowly out of the vault and up the stairs to the main floor. An eerie wind flowed through his fur, and a sense of foreboding overcame the atmosphere. He proceeded calmly out of the bank and towards the town square. Several other places it was windy, but not here. It had even stopped raining. Knowing what to expect, he looked straight up. As predicted, it came.

The clouds started spiraling around. Something descended from them. An object? Or a living creature? It seemed to consist of a bold blue outline of some strange entity. Nothing anyone had ever seen before.

"I HAVE COME FOR WHAT IS DUE TO ME!" it shouted, its voice booming amidst the horizon.

"All yours." called Dex, smiling, "It's not mine, anyways, so it doesn't matter to me. Besides, once they realize just how powerless you really are, you are going to get it, and you are going to get it hard."

Dex laughed. The entity roared.

He was gone before Varrock was.

"Land Ho!" Shouted the sailor in the crow's nest.

"15 Minutes till port." The Helmsman announced.

"Good." Michael said, standing up from the table where he was playing cards.

"It looks like it's rain'n there, Cap'n!" The Sailor in the crow's nest shouted down.

"Get your coats on men, we must unpack our cargo and then load the produce from Kailenia before nightfall." The Captain ordered.

In 10 minutes they were in port.

"The wind is blowing awfully hard to the East, Captain." The Helmsman said to the Captain.

"Aye, I'll go talk to the Harbor Master to see if we may stay a night here. It looks like a storm's a brew'n."

Though it was raining and dark clouds covered the Kailenian islands, it looked as if darker clouds were coming from the west.

Michael, Momsrascal, and Elise quickly got off the ship and started to walk to the Tower of the Star.

Michael and Elise loved the rain, though they were getting drenched. Each time Michael set foot on the ground anyone nearby would hear a sucking sound.

"What is that sound?" Momsrascal, who didn't like the rain, asked.

"I'm having the ground suck the rain water off of me, drying me out." Michael said with a smile.

Elise wasn't walking calmly like Momsrascal and Michael, she was jumping in puddles.

"Elise, don't jump in the puddles you'll get your dress all dirty." Momsrascal said

"But I like the dirt and water!" Elise said with a giggle as she continued to jump in the puddles.

Momsrascal sighed.

"She has no fear of natural objects," Michael said stopping, "that is both good and bad."

"How so?" Momsrascal asked, "I thought Natural things couldn't hurt her?"

"Just puddle jumping or falling off of low heights doesn't hurt her at all. But large rocks falling on her or her falling off of high heights when off guard can." Michael explained, "I must make sure she knows this."

When they reached the gates of the Tower of the Star they were greeted by an Elduvian knight, not a Star Knight. This is because there are not many Star Knights, so it's hard to spare them to guard such places. One Elduvian knight is fine, especially since they've never had a problem with unauthorized people trying to get in.

In a few minutes they were inside. Michael motioned to one of the Female Star Knights.

"Sylvia, would you mind showing Elise around? She's very inquisitive and loves learning new things." Mihcael asked.

"Sure." Sylvia said with smile, "What do you want to see first, dear?" She asked taking Elise's hand.

"Horsies!" Elise said excitedly.

They started walking of to the stables.

When they had left the hallway Michael said, "She doesn't need to hear our conversation with the other Generals. She'll also have more fun with Sylvia."

Michael and Momsrascal entered the Star room.

----
Somewhere under Gielinor
----

"How comes the experiments?"

"They're nearly combined, I hope your men have gathered the ingredients."

"They have, all we're waiting on is your Platinum charm."

"It'll be ready, if we rush it we could lose all our research. These charms have more powers then any mortal knows.

Lawrence after much difficulty had gotten back to Varrock only to see it was gone. "What in Zamorak's name...?" He thought. Darkrascal started talking to him through a comorb.

"We're back at the Black knight castle. Where are you?" She asked.

"I was in Feldip Hills and now I'm at Varrock... Or rather, a bottomless pit where Varrock was..." He said.

"Oh. So now you can guess what happened..." She said. "And why were you all the way over there!?" She yelled.

"I was teleported from my post!" He retorted.

"Then I don't blame you." She said. "Just get over here." She said.

"Gladly, dear!" He said.

Zac wakes from his deep sleep.

Wow, let's not do that again. Ugh, splitting headache.

Zac, climbing down from the yew tree pans the area.

Where are the people? Usually there's at least one person cutting yews.

Zac walks north to the Edgeville bank.

Lets see, I'm starving! What do we have here. . . triangle sandwich would be good. Oh and some chocolate sounds great. Tea? I hope it's not too old.

Mmm. . . that was good; I feel revived. I'm going to tell cutie that I need more chocolate and triangle sandwiches next time I see her.

Zac walks South and heads toward Draynor.

I wonder what adventure will find me next. I'm due for a good one.

"Zac where have you been!?" Sandwich Lady

"Sweetie! You found me! Hey listen, I'm going to need more triangle sandwiches and chocola"

"Zac hush! Seriously though, where have you been!?" Sandwich Lady

"Hun everything's alright, I've just been sleeping. I took a nap in a yew tree."

More like a coma.

". . . but anyways like I was saying, could I get more chocolate and sandwiches? You know my bank pin. . . just put them in whenever you get a chance. Please and thank you?"

"Zac, this is serious!" Sandwich Lady

"Y so srs?"

Sandwich Lady slaps Zac.

"This is no time for jokes Zac, whether there yours or someone else's." Sandwich Lady

"Okay, on a serious note though, what's going on? What's wrong?"

Sandwich Lady disappears in a ring of smoke.

"What!?"

I'm so lost. I was just sleeping. Maybe it's just a girl thing. Maybe she thinks I was with Juliet. I hope not, that'd be a hole I don't know if I could climb out of. . . Maybe I should get a shovel and start working on my underground home. . .

Zac ponders Sandwich Lady while trying to find his way to Draynor.

I rephrase that past statement. I just want an adventure, without girl problems. Haha.

Lawrence had finally returned to the black knight castle. He was greeted by his most enthusiastic maid, Marie.

"Master Lawrence! I made dinner for everyone while you were away. Your dinner is on the table still warm! I also finished cleaning the entire castle!" She said excitedly with a smile as she hugged Lawrence. He patted her head.

"Uh, good job." Lawrence said. How he met her was an epic adventure in itself.

Epic flashback
_________________

Valmore was the reason he and Valmore's Zamoriakian son, Vincint were there. That insane vampire Valmore had somehow kidnapped Darkrascal and now Lawrence with the help of the half vampire, Vincint were going to get her back. They were in Valmore's dark, forbidding fortress. They searched just about every room by now.

"Zamorak only know what he's doing to her..." Vincint said.

"When I get my hands on him, I'll kill him!" Lawrence said with a tone of anger. Nobody messed with Darkrascal! He wouldn't let anybody get away with that. They turned down another corridor only to see a girl in a maid's uniform. She wielded a double ended spear, tipped with enchanted metals that do fire damage. The only reason Lawrence knew that is because Vincint pointed it out. The girl charged at them and Lawrence was force to draw his katana.

The fight didn't last long as Lawrence made her incapable of using her weapon. Vincint noticed a seal on her neck.

"He was using this possess and control her, Lawrence... It's a cursed vampire seal..." Vincint said with disgust in his voice. Lawrence bit the girl's neck healing his damage and breaking her seal.

"Thank you..." The girl said weakly.

"I'll tend to her wounds. You go on and kill my crazy dad." He said with a devilish smirk on the last sentence. So Lawrence finally found Darkrascal, kicked Valmore's butt and saved the day.

A few days after the incident, The same girl from Valmore's fortress introduced herself as Marie and had offered to work as his maid. So intent on serving the person that freed her, she was more than happy to do anything she was asked.

end of epic flashback

"Hey. Doesn't make you jealous that Marie if hitting on Lawrence?" A black knight asked Darkrascal.

"Jealous? Not really." She said. The black knight was somewhat shocked at her reply.

"You aren't sane." The black knight said.

"Thank you." Darkrascal said like she received a compliment.

Here's a bio for Marie!
