Um, no.

Torrents are great ;)

Just Googled "fine for having Limewire on a computer" which would have produced results that showed a fine..Heck this topic is the #3 thing shows up.

AKA : No fine. At least nothing that's a real law. Might be something that companies / schools have in place to conserve bandwidth, however.

I havn't used it since i was about 13. It's made of viruses and **** porn. And illegal porn, too.

Torrents are far, far superior.

I wouldn't use it if buying a song legally wasn't $.99. Who the hell came up with that? Make it $.25 at the most.

But what did such a Teuton afterwards look like when he had been "improved" and led into a monastery? Like a caricature of a human being, like an abortion: he had become a "sinner," he was in a cage, one had imprisoned him behind nothing but sheer terrifying concepts... There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. In short, a "Christian"... - Twighlight of the Idols

Its illegal. You're depriving the Band or Composer their money that they should get. If everyone used Limewire, they would get no profit. Its illegal, because its unfair.

Meh, I said illegal, but there are so many people using it (if not torrents) that there's no way the law could catch everyone. Having it on your computer shouldn't be illegal though.

Fixed that for you. ;D

Limewire is perfectly legal, or the people that created it and run it would of been arrested by now. What the mass majority use it for however isn't legal.

The artists deserve the money, the record companies lock these artists into contracts that force them to almost entirely give up their rights. I could care less about what happens to the record companies. If you want to support an artist, buy their merchandise and go see their tours. I refuse to fuel the greed of the music industry.

Well, I guess technically it's illegal, but the thing is, I know that at the moment, I can get away with it. Until I go back to the UK, where it's more of a problem. I've torrented around 50 movies, and I've downloaded program upon program, Almost a hundred GBs of stuff, and that's not including the music I've downloaded. I guess is just comes down to whether you can get away with it or not.

Yes there is a fine on Limewire if you get caught with it on your computer, the person who fixes the computer is by-law supposed to tell his/her boss. My friend's laptop got fixed at Best-Buy, and he got fined by the court.

That I think is wrong. There shouldn't be a fine for having a program on your computer. You may not even use it, yet your getting fined for it being installed.
