If....What would you do?

If you were in Iraq, or Afghanistan or any war torn countries, You and your army buddy were walking, and for instance there was an Enemy kid not an adult but a child, who has his gun pointed at your partner, the temperature is 107F, and there are no winds, it looks like he will get a clear shot at your buddy! What will you do? If it was me it would be simple, the kid is an enemy, he picked up a gun and instantly became an enemy, they shoot to kill not to maim. I would shoot the kid there is no other option because its your choice between life and death. Post yours.

shoot the kid. considering if he believes he is adult enough to carry a weapon to try and kill my teammate who i swore i would give my life to save his, he is old enough to face death.

There really is no simple answer and no outcome will ever make you feel truly justified in your actions. Because of that, I don't know what I'd choose.

Well if there was a non-lethal method of disabling the threat, I would go for it. Otherwise, shoot to kill.

Push away my comrade and search for cover. I'll try to do anything to prevent the kid getting killed. Why? Because your local influence drop down, and angry citizens will probably tempt an attack on your squad, so more people could get hurt.
Shoot his leg, if impossible, shoot to kill.

Shoot to wound, I'd presume. I can't say for sure because that sort of situation is always difficult to judge but here and now? I'd think he is just a kid, children don't have much tolerance for pain and a shot in the foot or something would probably be enough to make him drop the gun and kill over in pain.

I'd only shoot the kid if there was really no other way to save the guys life. And then as Creepy said, I'd only shoot to wound.

Most likely if you shoot to wound the kid would have already shoot the guy.... I would shoot to kill...

I dislike kids enough as it is. To see one holding a gun at me or a friend, threatening to kill either one of us; I wouldn't hesitate to shoot him/her/it.

If it actually happened the kid would shoot as soon as he picked up the gun, I don't think there'd be some hollywood style hold up. So unless you had the reflexes of a cat in such a high pressure situation your friend would get shot whatever.

Anybody using a gun in a warzone against somebody on the same side you're on is fair game, regardless of age or gender. The man with me would most likely get shot first, but i'd kill the child.

I would go all Superman and use super speed to take his gun, shoot him about 3 times and then throw him in the wall. If he still lives. I would reload and shoot him in the heart. That's what they should get for trying to be an enemy of me. Yes, very violent. Sorry, but this question had to be answered truthfully.

I, personally, would not kill the kid. I would shoot him/her, but not actually kill. I mean hey, the kid might regret it after a good couple of bullets in the shoulder.
