You get it near Tree Gnome Village (the small one inside the maze). Right outside the actually city (still int he maze), there is a ladder. Go down it, and look in all of the boxes until you find the key. Then go the other way and you'll see a door. Use the key on it and talk to the gnome inside. He gives you the stone.
