I recently bought a wireless router and hooked it up to my PC. Before this my computer had already been directly connected to the modem and I'd never had any speed issues. But since connecting up the router my ping and general internet speed has slowed right down. Before the router by ping on WoW was around 60-100, and now with the router it's up to anywhere from 1000-3000. Anyone have any idea what's causing this?

I'm not really sure what you've done config wise for your router, so I'll just give some gerneral suggestions.

If it's just games that are affected by speed, you may need to forward some ports to your computer from your router for playing games. A quick search yields that you need TCP ports 3724 and 6112 forwarded for WoW.

If it's your whole internet speed in general that's slow, you may need to do some additional configuration required by your ISP in your router config. I'm not really sure what this involves, I've never had an ISP that requires specific settings on the router as the modem usually takes care of this, although I know there are some ISPs that require it.

If you are connecting via wireless there might be some interference and you should be able to change the channel your router is broadcasting on.
