The best drops of charms for me are from Hellhounds, Shadow Warriors, and bats <----Yes they drop golds pretty often.

The ogres to the east of castle wars are a decent low level spot. They drop gold, crimson, and green charms. I fight them to get seeds and the charm drops aren't that bad.

Hi Dragon

For waterfiends you need to use a crush weapon. The best option is a god sword, then either torags hammers or a flail. Wear either black dhide or Karils to protect from the fiends mage attack and range prayer to protect from their range attack.

I'll post a pic of my usual set up when I get a chance (I'm at Steels at the moment) but its basically:

Super set
4 (4) pray pots
Decent food (I usually use monkfish)
Anti-dragonfire shield (Just in case the brutal green dragons are near when you first go in)
Games Knecklace ( to get there)
Teleport device to get out of the dungeon

This allows me to stay for about an hour and I generally get 60-70 charms which are 90% crimson.

You can use guthans as the spear has a crush effect and stay on the fiends for longer (90 mins or more) if you take about 15 pray pots. Personally, I prefer not using guthans like this as it gets too costly.

thats because ice warriors suck. people only think they're good because they were listed on the "monsters that drop charms" thing when summoning was first released. gold charms are bad exp as well, that makes them even worse. my advice is to not try to kill stuff specifically to get charms. if you kill monsters for slayer, you get a nice balance of charms.

and as an added note to blethorskite's advice, a barrelchest anchor is actually the best crush weapon you can use for 2 hands. it is the same speed as a flail, spear, or hammers, but has stats compareable to dharok's greataxe. if you are too afraid of losing your 800k anchor, then go with a d battle and rune defender on the lower left combat style (crush agressive) it is slightly more accurate than a flail, and signifigantly more powerful.

barrelchest anchor:
crush: 92 strength: 100 (winner)

dragon battleaxe w/rune defender:
crush: 83 strength: 90
torag's twin-hammers:
crush: 85 strength: 72
verac's flail:
crush: 82 strength: 72

Thanks for the info Bleth. And also thank you cooper for breaking down the weapon selection. I think I'll give water fiends a shot later when I have time. :)

Thanks for adding that information Cooper. I always forget about the anchor. I'll dig it out of my bank and give it a go next time I visit fiends.

Another good place to get charms is iron and steel dragons. I just started killing em for some charms this past friday and already over 500 green and crimson with some blue charms as well. Plus they are also pretty good for drops so you make your money back that you spend on antifire pots or prayer pots.

It's mainly gold charms you get from the crabs Zobbey, though you do get lots as they drop 10 at a time.

The high levels are still sending a lot of time at the Waterfiends.
