Metallica or Iron Maiden?

Some of you oldies might remember me making this very same poll some time in 2006. It is simple.

Metallica, or Iron Maiden? Which do you think are better?

For me, it's Iron Maiden (now). When I made the poll before, I did think Metallica, but I recently borrowed loads of Maiden CDs off a friend to copy, and after hearing all these, and after hearing every metallica album, I think I now prefer Iron Maiden.

Most of the songs by Metallica I can barely stand listening too, the only song which I consider good by Metallica is "Enter the Sandman". I tried listening to their other albums but I just couldn't get it into. I can say much about Iron Maiden since I haven't heard more then a couple songs from, but couple of my friends highly suggest it.

I really don't like heavy metal, the music doesn't appeal to me, I prefer alternative or classic rock instead.

Neither, I would vote for Megadeth.

Every Metallica album after And Justice for All... or the Black Album sucked. They sounded crap after that.

Iron Maiden is a bit too high-pitched at times (especially the "singer") and can be a bit annoying.

Metallica. I'm not a fan of either band, i don't see the big deal with their music. And i certainly have never understood why iron maiden is so great. Honestly I've not once heard a single song by them that's made me stop what i was doing just to listen to it.

Anyone care to recommend a good Iron Maiden song? Perhaps I'll go listen to it.

Now er, my problem with it is. Hes singing it, it's not a bad song at all. There's nothing wrong with it..but..theres nothing there. I get the impression hes just singing it cause he has to.

His voice has no emotion, he just..sorta..well he might as well be sitting on a chair and singing that to me, cause he just doesn't seem to care. I don't like music like that, if it's an angry song i want them to be angry, if it's a happy song, be happy, if it's sad then be sad. I guess that must sound a bit weird but yeah, i searched them Live and he just stood there on stage, he made no effort what so ever..it's just..dull to me.

This though, while he just stands there for the most part, i actually like that song a bit more cause hes got some more emotion into his voice, hes putting in a lot more effort IMO.

I'm not really into that kind of music either.

The only song I liked from Iron Maiden was 'The Evil That Men Do'
And the only one I liked from Metallica was 'I Disappear'

Metallica is excelent, I'd rather go for Metallica but alos Run To The Hills is a good song by Iron Maiden.

By Iron Maiden I like Run To The Hills, The Trooper and Number Of The Beast.

Don't really like either, but I'll say Maiden cause I like more songs by them

IRON MAIDEN for sure, it's more melodic, complex and just better than metallica.

I like both bands very much, but some of Iron Maidon's songs sound just very weird. I'm going to have to go with Metallica.

I'm with Maiden.

Maiden makes you jump around while headbanging as you sing along with Bruce, Metallica just makes you sing the lyrics along.

Two complete different things. Maiden is too good to be compared to 'Tallica.

Completely, Maiden is like thousands levels higher than metallica, the cavemen. Hallowed be thy name live is a killer, and I'm going to see them live xD

TBH, The old Maiden songs are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better (Probally OVER NINE THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUSANDS TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), No song can be compared to Fear of The Dark,Hallowed be Thy Name or The Number of the Beast.

But I respect other people's choice
