Nintendos new IP - warning lots of pics

The game title is called "Disaster - Day of crisis" and i gotta say..while er..it's cool to see Nintendo trying something new and original. And a new Nintendo IP is usually a good thing.

This? Er i have some major doubts, it looks ugly as hell too, i don't believe how poor that is in some shots. XD I hope the gameplay makes up for it.

Man, what is Nintendo doing?! They should stick with their original design, because this is just rediculous.

Well if you've actually read anything about the game you'll probably know that it's actually looking to be quite a thrilling game about an ex-"army dude" trying to track down terrorists stealing nuclear weapons - while the US is being barraged by earthquakes/typhoons/volcanic erupitions etc. Strangely though, the people who're banging on about "the kid only has lame kiddy games" are the same people who already assume this one's crap? Weird, considering this babeh's slightly more adult themed than Mario Party 8.

The thing is with this game though, is it seems a -tiny- bit cliche. However, I've never seen a game like this before on any console and it's definitely the thing which will bring in a lot more "hardcore" gamers into the wii, if it does it's job properly. :p

Though, if it makes you 360 nubs happy, I'm sure nintendo can buy another warioware knockoff from some 2nd rate games company like Namco Bandai. Cor, bloody hell, Sight Training? Ahahaha.

The story, is exactly what you said. Dude vs terrorist. Not terribly original. I've not said the wii only has lame kiddie games, however I'm stating this one looks crap. Because it does.

Don't get me started on those flat bushes, I saw that in Konami crazy racers on the gameboy advance - clever trick but it shouldn't have to be used on a console and it is terribly noticable there.

The game just looks UGLY, you'd have to be blind to think otherwise. I can only hope that isn't a final build and that they'll be polishing the graphics a lot before release.

It is Cliche, I'll agree with that..as for original..well, Rainbow six Vegas is my fix for terrorist shooting action tbh and with R6V2 coming and promising the best Co-op and online ever it's hard to get to excited over this for me.

If they can get the look up to standards, so it's not looking like an N64 game in places and rather snazzy in others (it does look good in some spots, terrible in others.) do something cool n interesting with the wii remote and have a decent story line, which Nintendo isn't exactly famous for then they might just get me half interested.

Oh and it needs online, decent online at that.

Yeah, that 2nd pic you have is actually from the Goldeneye Source mod, a mod to half life 2 deathmatch game. Believe it or not, they are still developing that mod Althought to be fair, that 2nd picture is with graphics quality on low. I've tried the mod and it looks better than that.

I do agree that this new game looks like crap, but I wouldn't go so far back as to compare it to goldeneye.

It looks like one of those games you play in arcades with the guns where it will stop and let you shoot at the people till you kill them, then the camera pans over to the next people to shoot.

Yeah, it looks like a mod based on the source engine.

Pull up a picture of Half-Life 2 and compare the font and location of the health and ammo overlays.

Nintendo apparently is trying to bring back the dead genre with Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles in which you have no control over where your character goes.
