 I spend far too much time in this forum. Well, now runescape's just really, really laggy. So laggy in fact I can't even enter my bank pin before I'm kicked out of the game. I've tried different world, I've cleared my cookies, updated java, scanned for ad/spyware and viruses, and absolutely nothing has improved.

I'm not playing with bittorrent or anything else running which connectes to the internet either, and I'm out of ideas. Help?

edit: And it's only the runescape game which has this problem, the rest of the wesbite and my internet has been working fine.

I can play on my brother's computer with no problems. That one has the main internet connection though, my one, the one I'm using now, uses a wireless connection. But since I can do everything else without any difficultly, I'm confused as to what the problem is.

Maybe you should get more memory on your computer?

I first noticed it yesterday.
Last thing I installed was AOE 3
I've also put in a new Graphics Card and new Power Supply, though these were done on friday.

I've had similar problems in the past. Have you tired using the "sun java option" from the drop down box on the detail page?

This worked for me. However I use an mac.

Don't know too much about windows.

also does lag decrease in low detail?

This maybe a "HDD" problem, when I had several recording products/games on my machine at one time it lagged me like hell, I remembered the last software I installed, un-installed it and I ran fine.

So maybe uninstall last installed software before lag, and let me know what happens?

Because this maybe virtual memory problem.

Re-install Java? (It worked once for me in the summer, same problem)

If it doesn't work try playing with the launchable Runescape Client downloaded from the site.

If not then, I hope someone else has an answer for ya :)

How much free disk space do you have? If less than 1GB then that can slow your computer down tremendously.

Does AOE run fine? or is it laggy also?

AOE shouldn't have slowed down your pc, but were you lagging like this before you installed it?

That won't improve anything because the Runescape Client just uses IE extensions.

*Wonders how Anubis' computer can have so many problems*

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much."
And spread his arms out on the cross and died.
