It's quite sad that more and more people of the world are getting addicted to games such as Runescape and World of Warcraft. No one ever pays attention to those tips at each login page when you login. I suggest to reduce this unhealthy habit, games should have like meters for how long you can play per day, and after a meter is full, you automatically logout. But that's just my suggestion.

Some games actually do have pop ups that warn people of playing too long. The nature of runescape, with a target market of 13-18 is a game that should have something more along those lines.

It really is a 'gateway' game or MMO. Especially with the F2P aspects.

An addiction means you just have nothing better to do and have nothing to lose. Trust me if you have something better to do...you will overcome your addiction, otherwise your addiction is literally more important to you.

You have a sad misunderstanding of addiction. Killer avatar though.

You are just not willing to accept that games can be more important to people than: talking, eating, sleeping, etc...I should know...I wrenched myself away from Runescape and Rsbandb for two months because I considered school more important. I got good grades and now I am home for the summer. I am an RA at my school. I have seen people that choose to game over school. Why? Because they know the worst thing that can happen is they will get to move home (three square meals and ac everyday) after they fail out...not much of an incentive to succeed. Just give people the chance to truly fail. Put death or taking away all there gaming in front of them and 99 percent will do something about it...the others will just give up and die...that is the nature of humanity. You have do give them something more more dire or some ultimate reason to stop. BTW my oldest bro is a total game addict and has been leaving at home now for three years...why should he stop...he works two hours a day and my parents feed him. Trust me this topic is close to my heart. Gaming is fun because it is the most fun thing to do with the least amount of work. If people could get together 9 people to go play baseball, or had a rock climbing wall in there house with a belayer at the ready...that would trump playing computer game...but is just so easy to sit down, push the power button, grab a bag of chips, and veg... and with nothing to lose...why would anyone stop? That is the addiction you speak of my friend.

the way I see it, is that if you have spare time and want to play a game in that spare time, it's perfectly fine. I know I'm addicted, but I'll never brush off my friends to fletch. l0l.

Pubs > Runescape.
Always.

+1

Couldn't of said it better myself
