Guide to making an f2p pure ranger. By Skrewi_Lui

This guide was made using the original 25 arrows from tutorial island, no drop trading
or free stuff from friends was used...

Contents:

1 - Getting the gear.
2 - Making cash and training range from 1-20
3 - Ranging 20-30
4 - ranging 30-40
5 - Higher Ranging...

1: As a newbie fresh from tutorial island you come with 25 gp and a hell load of junks.
The first thing to do is sell ALL your stuff, except for the bow and arrows to the lumbridge
general store. (You could get the training bow and arrows from the instructors outside the
store if you want, its free ranged xp)

This should give you a bit of cash to spend. NOTE: If there are any bronze
arrows in the general store, buy them, they are a great deal at 1 gp each.

Go into Al Kharid and look in the general store for leather chaps, body, vambs etc, if they
dont have any in stock, try a more populated world, for example 1 or 3.
Now you are all set for ranging :)

-----------------------------------

2: As for training, i would suggest chickens at the farm near lumbridge for 1-10/20 ranged,
the feathers can sell for around 5 gp each, and you get around 300-400 with your 25 bronze
arrows if you're lucky.

When you run out of arrows sell the feathers to people in the chicken coop for NO LESS THAN
4 EACH. This should give you a bit of cash to spend ;). Go into Varrok and buy the studded
chaps from the armour store opposite the ranged store. You can also buy a load of arrows
cheaply from the ranger store, along with a willow and maple SHORTBOW. Longbows are
real slow xp.

-----------------------------------

3: Now you are 20 range, and loaded with cash, go to the crafting guild south of falador,
and kill cows. Believe it or not they are great ranged xp, and the crafting guild is
rarely crowded making for quick levels. They can hit you, so it's better doing this at
20 ranged as the studded chaps are much better defence. The cows also drop meat, so bring
an axe and tinderbox if you want to, you can cook the meat for food if you get low HP.

-----------------------------------

4: You should be 30 ranged by now, you have two options. Either continue with cows, or
move on to scorpions in the Al Kharid mine. There is a great safespot on the east side near
the coal rocks. The scorpions aren't bad for xp, they have quite good HP and low defence.
They don't drop anything though, so this can get kind of boring...
Your choice.

-----------------------------------

5: If you haven't given up yet you will get 40 ranged. Now the fun starts o.O Go to the
little house east of barbarian village and buy a brass key off someone for 100-200 gp.
(It will pay off). Inside the cave under the house are Hill Giants. They are great training
having low defence and high hitpoints. The trouble is there are many noobs here that steal
any type of arrows they see, so it's best to use bronze.
Hill giants are also great cash, they drop Big Bones which can sell in Varrok world 1 for
around 400 each :o 1k Big bones is 400k, which isn't too shabby, and if you bank the big
bones from 40-60 you really will be loaded,

When you are 60 ranged, (any lower, people will see your arrows)take a trip to Karamja and
kill the lesser demons in the volcano. There is a good safespot, it's hard to miss because
everyone goes there. Bring some food just incase. They do attack you and have a max hit of
8, which will rip through your 1 defence. They also drop the occasional rune medium helmet
(which sells for 10k), and lots of steel junk which you can sell to the general store just
down the mountain, or just drop.

Hope my guide was helpful :)

Nice guide but I have a suggestion: range minotaurs in the stronghold of security. They are fast xp and they drop iron and bronze arrows very often.
