While I was camping this weekend.. I stopped along my trip to pay my respects at the graveside of my grandfather.. I took a couple moments to remember and honor him..

My grandfather died a poor man.. but the week we laid him to rest.. our family was blessed to received WELL over 500 visitors.. there was a line of people waiting in front of the funeral home that stretched down the street.. simply to tell us that they were sorry for our loss..

They came to tell us about a moment they had shared with him that made them smile.. they came to tell us about a time that he had helped them or touched their lives for the better.. they came to tell us that he had impacted them in a way that would not be forgotten.. they came to tell us that they were sorry to see his humble light fade from the earth..

What struck me was that a poor man had had that many friends and that close of a family. A poor man, had made that much of a difference to the lives of the people around him. A poor man, had done what was right his whole life.. and in so doing, had set an example that others strove to follow..

My grandfather taught me that relationships are more important than money or power.. he taught me that those connections with other people will outlive you.. he taught me that a single man.. can make a difference.. he taught me to care.

Thank you grandpa.

Light a candle.. lead the way.
Others will see the light and follow.

Why are people today too busy to care anymore :?

You may or may not know; But that is a Christian metaphor; the world is living in the darkness not knowing, and we are the light in the darkness

Alot of people expect other people to do it. If we keep doing that nothing is going to happen.

To answer your question, it's not personal.

I am one of the people who doesn't care if it doesn't effect me (egocentric ftl). I don't see why I should care about a dead someone I have never even met, dying happens all the time and there is nothing we can do about it. Live in the present and do not dwell on the past. You only get one chance, don't waste that time grieving.
