No answer to your post but I have a chinchompa question too, so I thought I add on to the thread.

Do normal ones explode in a area like red ones do?

I believe they do? They just dont have as high a range bonus i believe

I dunno, never hunted the regular Chinchompas. I just hunt Reds...
