-=-Introduction-=- -=-Part 1-=-
He was Running.
The Temple was before him. If he could reach that, then the Enemy would be unable to stop him. He could forfill the promis he had made. But there was a problem... He was being pursued. The Demonic Shadowhounds of the Enemy were chaseing him, hounding him to exhaustion, trying to take from him the thing that they wanted so badly.
His Life.
He stumbled. Instantly he was up, but the Enemies were close now. They ran faster, faster so they may drain his blood and steal his life. His life, which was so important, that would cause them to have to destroy a civilization just to take it. They lunged forward...
...And died beneath the Swords of the one they chased. He struck them down almost effortlessly as the magic flowing within the blades slashed through them. It burned them till there was nothing left but dust, and then, not even that.
He ran on. More would replace those that had fallen. They never seemed to stop comming after him. He had slayed a countless hord of them, and still they chased him.
The gate of the Temple stood before him, He ran on inside, knowing that the magic that held the Ancient stones of the Temple together would give him enough time to do what was needed. The main way was too dangerous now, he had to get to the Cmaber by way of the catacombs. Through the catacombs he ran, Stopping only to take from the Vault the book. Then it was more running. He had to reach the Inner Chamber!
Then the explosion rocked the chambers. The Enemy was in the temple. Their howling Screams of Rage echoing through the walls and down the coridors to tell him of their intent. But he was close now. He ran through the Room of Trials, knowing that he will not be stopped. The Spirits of the Room of Trials would let him through, it knew what was at stake should he fail at his goal. He slammed into the door at the end of the chamber, thrust it open with his arm, and ran on. The Chamber was just ahead!
He entered the chamber and threw the door closed behind him. Uttering a spell of locking, the old irons of the lock slid together, Locking him in and the Enemy out. Turning, he faced the Chamber. There, in the center, was the pedestal. Taking the book, he ran upon the alter and opened its Ancient bindings worn with age. There! The rest of the notes were there! He then drew from his robe a slip pf worn paper with a staff of notes written on it. Placing these next to the other notes in the book, he stepped back.
Reaching within his robes, he drew forth the Ammulet. Glancing at it as the light struck it, He saw that it shone with a unearthly glow, Almost like there was light from within shining out. The ammulet was in the shape of a perfect circule broken by a trapezoindal shape at the top. Around the outside of the ammulet were ten inlayed curcules with runes on them. These were ringed by a golden band that was imbedded within the ammulet. At the very center was a single flat area with a rune upon it. What the runes symbolized, he did not know. All he new is that he was to wear the ammulet upon reaching the chamber, Just as the Spirit had instructed him.
He placed the ammulet around his neck, fealing its surpriseingly light weight pull down on the fur on his neck. It looked odd on him, he quickly thought. He never wore anything of the sort. But now was not the time to remenis on his life, he had to hurry.
He removed from his robes the treasure he had been sworn to keep by the King himself, The Silver Ocarina. This was another key he needed to complete the summoning. Placeing it to his dried lips, he glanced at the page, and from the notes inscribed there on the dry pages, played the melody that would save them all. Light radiated from the crest on the floor beneath him, the wakeing of an ageless Magic long been in slumber. He continued to play the melody, the Book before him upon the pedestal. The floor began to vibrate violently, the magic was Awake. Light poured forth from the floor, and he could feal its power pulseing through him like blood through his veins. The light radiated forth into the chamber...
And Everything went black...
And then he awoke, the Dream that had been playing through his sleep for an eternity faded away into the recesses of his mind.
"Where am I...?"
He opened his eyes, and for the first time, saw his universe. And what he saw astounded him...
He saw nothing, absolutely nothing... He was starring straight into a black hole. It went on forever, and nothing could be seen within. But then, from the corner of his eye, he noticed something... Whiteness... Complete light. He stood and turned away from the Infinite dark of the shadows, And looked straight into the all-encompasing white of the light. He averted his eyes from the sheer pain of the light, It was so bright! Where was he? Why couldent he remember any-... Then, below his feet, He saw it...
The line of Twilight... the place where the Dark and the Light met. He was there, standing, no, floating in the midst of the line. It went on forever before his feet, and no horizon broke through the Two. He turned around, There the line went on again, forever and unending. he stood upon the Two, and yet upon nothing.
He looked upon himself in wonder, Seeing himself again for the first time.
"Where am I?" he called out to the brink.
Then he saw IT.
IT aproached him, moving along the Line towards him, then stopped before him. He could see IT was shrouded in robes, Half as white as the Light, the other as black as the Dark. The robes were trimmed in black and white flame, both intertwining to become an imposible design. Then he saw. There was no face, only a Grey Mist. Looking upon it, he was terrified, but yet also comforted by it. Whatever it was, it was here. Then, with a voice that pierced through him like a spear to his soul, IT spoke.
"Awake!! Your destiny has claimed you!" IT said, pointing its outstreched hand at him. "It is time for you to Arise and reveal the Truth!. Long have you Slept, but no longer. Now is the Time for Awakening! Awake!!"
"Wh-"
"Awake!!" It said. "You are The Chosen one. The time for your part in this legend has come. Discover the Truth, Free the Guardian, and Save those who are No More. Go forth now, Leave this place of sanctuary where you have long slumbered! For now is the Time. Arise, Neithan Diniem! Awaken to the Destiny apointed to You!!"
The Line shimmered. It was fading, fading away to nothing. What was happeneing?
IT vanished, and with it, so did the last hint of the Line. The Two began to merge, becoming one. Then they decended upon Neithan like a grey flood, Washing him away. The Grey flowed around him, over him, and through him, washing away the place where he had layed for over tewnty-one and a half thousand years...
Now all he saw was the Endless Mist of the Grey as he faded away into unconciousness...
This is his begining.
