But it was still the best **** gig i've ever been too.
Went to see Iron Maiden in Glasgow on friday night. Excellent gig. Truely excellent. Started off with Lauren Harris, who i might add, was one of the fittest lasses i've ever seen. She was alright, crowd didn't really react, aside from a few boo's at the beginning that just subsided into stares of lust from the guys. I wanted to hit her bassist/drummer with something though. Most hair metal bassist i've ever seen. The drummer was an absolute *** too.
Then trivium came on, and the fun really started. Instantly a pit opened around me, which was good cause i havnt been in one since Satyricon (Which was in september

). It took me a few minutes after it started to realise, ****, I'VE LOST MY SPORREN. Cause see, i was wearing my kilt. Sometime during that pit, my sporren, with my wallet, keys, phone and my mates mp3 player in, got ripped off and everything fell out. I managed to salvage my phone after the pit subsided, but aside from that i couldn't find anything else. Ah well. That ruined trivium for me and matty. **** happens. I then spent the next 30-40 (didn't really keep count) minutes in a furious rage, lashinng out at anyone who came near me and just not enjoying the gig like i could have. Then it blisfully ended.
MAIDEN, MAIDEN, MAIDEN. The crowd goes wild, the room goes dark. The opening chords to Different World are played and the crowd goes **** crazy. A pit opens to a song not heavy at all. In a series of oddly related events that i can't be bothered to explain, i almost break my leg, get seperated from my mates and some odd 40 year old drunk Glasweigian woman is trying to make out with me. But i don't care cause holy **** Maiden are so close to me i could almost touch them, if it wasnt for that impenetrable wall of people. They put on a hell of a show, making their studio album look like ****, even though it's one of the finest pieces of studio recorded music i've ever heard. I wont ruin it for anyone who is seeing them on the final leg of the tour, but christ that was a good gig.
Oh yeh, theres also this awesome Swedish guy i was talking to who's following them on every date of their tour. Legend to talk to. My last words to him, "See you on Sunday mate", cause of course, i'm going to see them in Newcastle too.
Good times.
