When you read, for example right now, do you hear a voice in your mind?

I do, and for some reason it's never the same for any two things I read. Some people tell me they hear their own voice no matter what/who they are reading, and others say they only hear voices for people of which they've heard.

So what about you..?

Yeah.

It's freaky.

I wonder if what I hear is actually the person who typed what I read's real voice.

Yes, when I read I create a different reality in my mind. So I don't realise I am reading.

It actually depends on what I'm reading. If I'm reading something coherent (like what you just wrote), then I hear my own voice when I read. However, when I see someone writing in chtspk.. the voice in my head changes from my own to that of a blabbering mentally-disabled person. :(

Lol, wut r u tlkin abt? Duz dis meen dat u not liek me msn convos? :O U tlk liek dis too den!

*shudders* In case you either couldn't understand that or would become ill from reading such a thing I'm suggesting to the comment you made yesterday of my incoherence. :( I believe myself to be very coherent. :P I simply choose not to as I find in most cases demonstrating my intelligence merely makes me seem boring and overbearing. Ridiculous how someone could ever think such a thing, no? :P

If' Im reading a book I'm not really reading. I'm in the place that the book takes place and I'm the main character and I don't realize anything around me. If I'm reading something like this I hear my own voice but sometime I don't realize I'm reading.

If I read anything in a book I assume a character is there and not my voice. If I read something on a screen like you are now it'll be my own voice.

Yes, i do. And those voices are subtely different when im reading something someone female has written to when im reading something that is genderless or male, or something I have written. Its quite strange.

When i read, first i hear the voice in my head, then i see the picture of the word, and they can all form into place as an image in my head.

If in the extremely rare occasion that I am reading a book, I make up voices, so if its a guy speaking I hear a random guy's voice

However if a girl is speaking I hear a random girl's voice

When I'm reading a book, I put voices to the characters, though when I'm typing or when I'm reading off a forum, my own voice is reading it.

I guess it's all down to whether my imagination is working or not. :P
