wealth ring experiment

Everyone is aware of the dispute of how effective the wealth ring is for bringing in the expensive items (at least most members). I suggest we do an experiment, for fun for the most part, to test the drop rate between ring wearers and non ring wearers. We could approach it like a school lab and record the drops or something, then compare the drops from the non wearers and the wearers, jsut to see how much better it makes your drops. of course, if we did decide to do this, we'd all have to keep to the same monster, as to not change the results.

This seemed liek a good idea in my head, but it looks a little different here on the boards lol

if we decide to do this as an event, by all means, someone else organize it =p

Weatlth rings only max the oods for medium valued items, that's sure, but not the odds for a dmed or something.

But, to the question. What you should probably do is pick a monster, kill around 1,000 of them with the ring of wealth, then 1,000 without. Compare your results.

It does increase the drop of rare items...in general store terms. I killed 100 kurask no ring i got mostly addy items then with it on i got 3 white mystic tops and they are worth 120k in store they will be dropped more.

thing is, you had aleady killed the 200, so fate was sort of already in your favour.

say there is a bag with 500 marbles: 499 blue, 1 other. your chances of pulling the non blue marble are 1/500. after the 500th marble, yourchances shoudl be 500 x 1/500 = 500/500 = 1. if you still dont pick the only one that isn't blue, it is simply a matter of time befor ethe non blue marble comes. (the marble you draw goes back in the bag) the more you kill, the better chance you have.

to properly expiriment, you would have to hold a set trial of a large number of kills, like 1000. and document every drop you get so you can learn their aproximate drop rates.

then you would have to repeat this with he wealth and comper the two results. fo some creatures, 1000 might not even be enough. so really, you would have ot be as obsessive about finding results as zezima is about remaining #1 on high scores to get te results you want.

a personal experience may seem like enough proof, but for some people, it might have had the opposite effect. you could have just been lucky.
