Gaim & Linux

My windows xp totally messed up this morning, and for some reason my bootable disk isn't working. So for the time being atleast. Im using Linux, but whenever i go to open up the gaim client, it will let me put my email/password in for msn messenger, but whenever I go to sign in, it closes it. Anybody know what's causing that?

My only guess is that its not compatible with your version of linux, or you need to go to the gaim download site and download a special version for linux only.

What distro are you using?

Dave, usually when you have the wrong version, it won't install properly. Unless you are compiling from source yourself.

Mepis. It's the gaim that was already on there. I haven't downloaded it or anything.
