What are other countries political parties called?
Are they the same as teh US?

I'm pretty sure every country that has a democratic government has the same political parties..

=) That's awesome, but also off-topic.

In the same by what terms? Are you meaning if political parties have the same names (i.e. Republican/Democrat)? Not really, but they still have the characteristics of being right-wing or left-wing. For example, in the UK there is the Tory (convservative/right) and Labour (liberal/left) parties.

There are hundreds in the UK, including: The Monster Raving Looney Party and The Jedis.

People who think they're funny just make stupid political parties and run for government. Never win though :roll:

They say if they ever do win they'd step down straight away.

Britain has three main ones: Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat.

Canada we have the PC's (Progressive Conservatives). The Liberals.
The New Democratic Party(NDP, no there not new). The Green Party(David Suzukis kinda party,naturalists) and Bloc Quebecois(they os dearly want to seperate from Canada. Those are the majorty partys.

And theres one minority group that I get a kick out of: The Marijuana Party, not surprislingly that got some votes, but I guess the rest of the stoners where to stoned to remember to vote.

Problem with political parties is that they all have good ideas, yet none of them want to merge to make a party that's good for everyone. I wish that'd happen

Still, one thing that confuses me when elections pop up -
"We will lower taxes!"
... So?
How the hell is that supposed to help us? X(

Most of them making promises to get into office, then when they get there. They don't honor the promises they made..

That's why you have to take everything a politician says with a pinch of salt.
