Jagex. Our Lazy, Over-Protective Administrators.

The idea makes me scared. I might be reported for something then i'll get perm banned because i didn't give a noob free stuff.

This is stupid

Okay, let's straigten some stuff out, shall we?

1. That guys name, "Flaming Mods". You're not allowed to have "Mod" or "Mods" in your name, people could take it wrong.

2. There are around 4.75m players. Almost 1m members. There are about or more than 2k mods.

Let me show you something, RSBANDB mods who don't agree with me.

Okay, so, when i was modded, our player mod to player ratio was about 1:6250. Nearly more than all of the users on Rsbandb. now, since our numbers have gone up, that's reduced to around 1:2500.

Okay. Jagex doesn't necesarily know mods when they mod them. They look at account history, reports, etc. They have no idea if they're going to be respectful or horrible. I admit some moderators shouldn't be, and they are dealt with. Jagex has demodded Hundreds of mods because they're not good mods. Lol.

And, about the burnt shark thing. You don't know what he said, mike. He most likely said "Rare burnt shark for 300k." Anything people say is rare that isn't on the list of rares you can be banned for. Simple.

Aaaaaaaaaaand the censor. Yes, i do admit, it's whacked out atm. They're fixing it. Not being able to say "Phone" is a security thing, just play along for a while.

I can assure you, you're not going to be banned for stuff some of these people are saying they're banned for. Jagex rarely makes mistakes. And when the make mistakes, there's a little friend i have called BANN APPEAL. Goodness, if they make a mistake, use that freaking tool!

And, Kyle - your post really bugs me. Making idiotic assumptions about numbers that you really have no idea what they are. 20 mods and 1m players? Once again, there's almost 1m members.

I do agree Jagex are going crazy. They ban people like Duke Freedom, big, respectble Player Mods who have done an endless number of things to help players all over runescape. Sure, he was selling Runescape gold for real money, but if you go to basically any world, you'll find autoers by the mining places and by the yew trees and all over the place. These *******, worthless members are the ones that should be banned, not the big, respectable members who broke the rules once.

And that chat filter is just annoying. Honestly, who cares if you swear. The world is full of swearing. People should have the self-respect and respect for others not to swear in the first place.

If someone offers to sell a burnt shark for 300k, other players should have the sense to know that is isnt worth 300k, and not sell it. If its a new player, its still inexcusable, because they should know some rough prices from looking around on the knowledge base and stuff.

And when it comes to the autoers, Jagex are constantly hiding behind their precious coding. They think its invincible. Humans are what is needed. More J Mods playing the game, checking for autoers, and banning on sight.

You can take examples from real life. Make more rules, and harsher punishments, and people offend more. Remove the restrictions, and people dont do it so much. In america, the states that have the death penalty have a higher murder rate, and that has been proven. Jagex should be more lenient.

Before I get onto what Little Dan said, and some of the other people have said, I can understand that they have to be hard on people for doing things, but, they're running a business here. Banning first time offenders for little things is a bit radical. Of course, there are some things that should be enforced on in such a fashion, but others shouldn't be.



Even so, it's not completely his fault that they let him make such an account. If it really weren't allowed, he wouldn't have been able to make it in the first place, yet, he was. The should've at least warned him. They can send messages to you in your "Inbox" thing for such things like this. They do that when you've gotten reported for something you've done wrong and are going to be punished, no?

And also, about not being allowed to have mod in your name. Why can you put Sysop in your name? It's just as bad.

(Sysop = System Operator for all those who don't know.)

But seriously. I can understand what you're saying there, only, his punishment was a tad bit severe.



Oh no, but they can make it worse. I seriously didn't have a problem with the last filter. Not being able to say some of the things that I wasn't able to didn't affect me one bit. You know how I talked about those words that people could get by? Well... EVERYWHERE I GO, SOMEONE IS USING THEM. How did it get out? I don't know, but it's horrible! People are constantly using profanities that have gotten by the filters.



1) Obviously. They can't please everyone, but it's not like I'm the only one that is bothered by this. Tons of RS players are. By tons, I don't mean the few that have posted on this topic, I mean thousands of players. Most of the players I speak to have gotten mad over a few of these topics while I've spoken to them.

2) That is not true at all. Many players are happy with a lot of the new updates Jagex have brought out for us. Don't base things on a few people.

It's great to see that *switches languages* un autre Quebecois joue a ce jeux mais *switches back* French is actually very easy to speak to others. The only censors I have run into were things like "Parlez" and "Allez" and I think we all know why... *Points to the end*

Anyway, thanks for posting here.

I think I've done my ranting for one night, and I'm glad to see that others agree with the points I'm trying to get across, and that there are some parts of what I've said that I've missed.

I was swearing like crazy about a year ago cuz I didn't think Jagex would ban a member. But ofcourse I was banned. I sent in an appeal saying sorry and they replaced the ban with a 3 Day Suspension.

My point - they ban people for first time offences, which they shouldn't do
but they do let you appeal, and if you say the right stuff, they'll let you go
