RS2 Changes

So I might be getting back into Runescape. Lame, I know. I hit a huge wave of nostalgia the other day ago. I'm not sure exactly when I stoppd playing, nor do I know how to find out when I quit.

I'm thinking that I quit around the end of the 2005 summer.

Has there been a change in the general economy since then?

a lot of things have changed big time in the economy since summer '05....the price of the d chain has dropped like 9 - 10m i believe...ever since the chaos elemental came out

The price of ess changed...that costed me a few mil (I had a few hundred thousand ess sitting in my bank to resell).

Prices have been and always will change when some players score rare and lucky drops. You can count on Runescape to be forever changing (what with the weekly update and all), and the people who play it change as well.

However, I'm not one to mention prices. Nowadays, I can never keep up with prices, so I do my own thing and just forget about merchanting. I find the game is more fun when you're running around the barrows rather then standing in one spot saying the same advertisement over and over again.

There has been some normal depreciation, and appreciation in the case of rares, and some new items added like infinity robes and dragon two-handed swords and mud battlestaffs, but the overall best equipment is still mostly the same. There's also been this pure essence thing added to hinder macroers by making their means far less profitable, so you can expect higher essence prices now that only members can mine the essence that makes p2p runes.

Yeah, REALLY big changes.
Dragon med is like 500k now.
Santas are at like 8m.
Dragon chains went down alot also.
There is a dragon 2H.
There is a dragon axe.
Blue phats are going up about a million a day.

And many mroe changes.

Man, I hate getting nostalgic.

I bet that dragon axe is pretty sweet though. I used to be a wc/fletching fan in my member days.

I might be able to join again in the beginning of june.

Any cool new quest?

I don't have any first hand experience, but from what I've heard the dragon axe is no better for woodcutting than a rune one. It's just better for fighting and has a special attack that, like, lowers your opponent's magic and defense, or something. That would be handy if you have a magician on your team, but I'd only use it in 'safe' mini games like Castle Wars.

Plus, I think coal's gone up a bit. It's usually around 200 now, but I think it was 150 or so when I first started buying it.

Yup. the 100th quest came out. Recipie for Disaster. it seems like a pretty big quest and a hard one too. it might be nice to have a new challenging quest.

The drag wc axe is pretty bad for a drag addition, and there are like 30 new different quests and the addition of the Tzhaar fight pits and updated graphics in the wilderness, lumbridge, falador, and some other places.
and I guess the worst of all farming..
