Post subject: Treasure Trails and Clues
PostPosted: April 18th, 2006, 8:41 am
Hi there

I'm new here and i used the "search". I know something about clues and treasure trails but not enough. Some monsters drop "clues", with "clues" you can find "treasure". There are lvl. 1/ 2/ and 3 clues with diffrent reward... On Zibez is a treasure trail locator...

But...

Where i find "clues"?? Can i locate a treasure and then go there without "clue"???

PS: i hope you can understand my terrible english...

No, you need the clue to get the treasure, no way around that. you can get clues from most monsters, just ask people if the monster in question drops clues or not.

Some examples of clue droppers are goblins, banshees, barbarians, thugs, pyrefiends, cockatrice, dagannoth, paladins, turoth, jellies, greater demons, and blue dragons. There are many more, and I'll leave it to you to find out which they are.

Yeah, you gotta kill a monster to drop the clues. "Easy" monsters drop lvl 1 clues, "mediums" drop lvl 2 and the "hard" monsters drop lvl 3 (i.e. dragons, which arn't that "hard".)

The clue then tells you to go to a certain place and dig, search some place, or dig some where. Each treasure trail usually takes 3-5 different scrolls, but i've seen 9 myself. You will get a chest at the end and inside is your reward.

Low level trails have 2-4 clues, mid level trails have 3-5, and high level trails have 4-6. Low level clues directly tell you what to do and lead to easy mainstream areas, mid level clues tend to be less direct and occasionally require some quest progress, and high level clues often have riddles and puzzles and send you to dangerous areas, often with quest requirements.

Higher level trails should be easier if you're an accomplished quester, both because they sometimes lead to places with quest requirements and because the riddles sometimes make references to quests.

Personally, I would advise against asking for help unless you are truly stuck and cannot think of any feasible answer.

I hope that helps you a little bit
