Soul's Bane

A rift in the ground has opened up releasing all manner of strange monsters into the lands near the Digsite. A sorrowful mother waits at the top of the rift for her long lost son, who has been missing for 25 years. You can journey down into the rift for an adventure full of twisted monsters all created from the mind of a young boy driven to madness through incarceration.

starting point: Rift entrance, North West of the Digsite, talk to Launa

no requirments but decent combat level recommended.

quest length: short

items needed: anti poison, rope, battle gear, food


1. talk to Launa, she has lost her son for 25 years and would like you to go down and find her son and husband. use a rope on the rift and climb down.

2. when you get below you'll see a weapon's rack. Each weapon kills a specific monster in the area. you can switch anytime.
use the sword to kill the unicorns, battleax for the goblin, spear for the bear and the mace for the rat.
after you rage meter gets full all monsters in the area will die and you'll get a cutscene of when the boy left.




3. enter the hole into a new area. peek into all the holes to find the grim. there are quite a few of them so search all the holes and kill them all. the number needed is different for everybody. just keep popping into all the holes and find them all.

4. you're finished when you get a cut scene and find a light hole. you'll enter a new area becareful as these can poison. some of the monsters are hallucination. after hitting 3 0's you know they are the fake ones. find the ones where you can do real damage.

5. as you start to kill the beast doors will start to dissapear. when you get only 1 enter the new area. just keep attacking the hopeless, even if it looks like their health is completely gone. it will take about 3 tries.


6. you'll enter a new area and start killing the creatures. you can be poisoned.

7. after defeating them talk to Tolna and you'll return to the surface. you'll get a sense of the returning of Zaros and you have complerted the quest.

Items needed: rope

Recomended items: armor and weapons and some food, anti poison could be helpful but extra food would be better.

Reward:1QP, 500 Defence, Hit Points xp and 500 coins. Also acces to the dungeon of tolna.

Quest length: medium
Skill Level: medium

1.Go towards canafis then go inside the gate and south-west then talk to launa. Ask her if you could go look for them.
2.Now use your rope on the rift then go in. Note: If you log out you get teleported up top, so don't log out till you need to go back up.
3.Now pick up a weapon at the rack right near the entrance, heres a list: use the spear for the bear, sword for the unicorn, mace for the giant rat, and i dont know yet what for the goblin.
4.But your objective is to get a full rage bar so go kill either a unicorn bear or rat.
5.Once you get a full bar theres a cut-scene. Next go into the exit to the south-east.
6.Next look in all the dark holes, lvl 45 fear reapers that have 25 hp will attack you while your doing this so you'll need armor. You must kill these monsters.
7.You need to keep searching the dark holes until you find and kill 5 then a cutscene will play.
8.Then enter the dark hole. You will be teleported to "the confusion room".
9.Now you need to kill all the confusion beasts. They can poison you or, if you start running throw a purple magic attack at you.You want to find the one you can do damage to if you dont do damage to one then run away and start on another. If you start doing damage then you found the right one, remember you CANNOT go further untill you kill the one with hp when all the others are also alive.
10.Once your done enter the door and you will go to the room of "hopelessness".
11.Now you must kill all the hopeless creatures, each creature has 3 "levels" you must kill all 3 "levels" of the monsters.
12.Once you have killed them all go over the hope bridge and into the exit.
13.Now there will be a cutscene then you will have to kill 3 "tolnas" lvl 45, one uses melee, one uses mage, and one uses range put pro mage on and kill them.
14.Then talk to tolna, you will now be teleported up to the top (the runescape world) and launa will now be tolna for you, speak to him.

All of the monsters that you fought during the quest. Though, they actually hurt you in the dungeon. During the quest they didn't really do any damage to you, so food isn't really all that necessary. Nothing special at all.
