Well my free trial for Norton Internet Security 2006 just ran out, so I want a good antivirus, firewall, spyware remover, etc.

What are the best ones? And should I un-install Norton?

Thanks.

I have the best ones listed here with links check out:
    AVG Free Edition
    Microsoft AntiSpyware
    Ad-Aware SE
    Zone Alarm

PS. Those programs that do anti virus, anti spyware, firewall and other stuff actually slow your pc down more than running multiple programs, also they dont work as well as multiple programs.

Well if you aren't going to be renewing your norton internet security license then you should remove it. It will probably keep bugging you every time you boot up and the norton progams are big and slow you down some.

If your not going to buy a progam the use AVG free. That one works pretty well. I use microsoft antispyware and it works pretty good. It blocks everything before it can have any effect on my computer. I suggest using those two.

I got rid of my sbc antispy thing that game with the internet because it didn't find anything. I tested it. I used microsoft antispy and found something. I left it on purpose to see if the yahoo progam would get it. It turned out with nothing. I did this later on with a few other things and the yahoo one wouldn't find anything. I just got rid of it and now I just use Norton Anti-virus 2005 and the microsoft anti-spy.

Norton Internet Security 2006 is all i need, protects me from everything, and is fast as hell, it picks up stuff before it reaches my pc :P

Its worth paying the $30 for, rather than have free versions that dont work as well.

But i also use adaware se.. but it never picks up anything, not even tracking cookies cuz norton is so good.

Out of antiviruses and firewalls you would have to pay to get good quality. I use McAfee but Notron isn't bad. Those two are most likely your best choices. However they're not free... I like Microft Anti-spyware Beta 1 because it's sort of like a spyware firewall and antispyware that will keep spyware away. I wouldn't use the free stuff though...especially Zone Alram and Ad-Bouncer.
