I think the best thing to make/buy and alc are either yew long bows or magic long bows.

I made a few 100k plus tons of magic + fletching exp in my last week of membership. (including fletching from 70-80 and magic from 55-70

I generally alch the various steel through rune items that I get as monster drops, and a lot of the items I make when training smithing.

and i usually alch yews, and mage longs.. 768gp per yew long.. 1536gp per mage long..

I alch green and blue dragon hide bodies when i craft too.
