Technically you aren't breaking any rules, because you are not macroing you are just not at the computer.

It would be the same thing as if you lagged out while fighting something.

AFK training isn't that effective though, you still have to be checking on it, and there aren't many good places to do it.

Plus there is the chance that you could get a random event or logged out in a second where there something stops attacking you.

I could be wrong though.

afk training is actually a bit more boarderline than alot of people like to think, as ur not at the keyboard your supposed to be logged out, however the rules are vague on the matter.

reading this most people assume that means that as long as they aren't using an additional program to bypass the auto-log then it's ok, however it all depends on how u interpret the rules.

I put something remotely heavy (phone, gameboy o.O) on the space bar and walk off...when I need to do something. Other than that I don't play RS while not at the computer. Or when I'm training I do things in other windows.

Runescape would be super boring if you can't AFK train.
No one would play it anymore if you can't multu-task.

Why get a 99 quickly when you can enjoy the skill for a longer time and make a lot of money in the process?

Anywho if you want to afk train, go for it...
