..::: HTML and XHTML:::..
*Yo. I like to make message boards and websites and I'm good at it. But I am not that good because I don't know good HTML and XHTML codes. The next message board I make for RuneScape I want to be an Invision Power Board one due to the fact that you can use HTML and XHTML for graphics. I don't know any good codes for good RuneScape banners and backgrounds. Please post if you got an idea. Peace.

you can learn html and xhtml at w3schools.com

jw. but why would you want to make an ipb forum? they are expensive unless you go with one from a free host and then the controls arent all that advanced, phpbb=better than ipb. atleast i think so.

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much."
And spread his arms out on the cross and died.
If you believe that he did this for you put this in your signature.

I do believe you misunderstand the concept.

Message boards are usually powered by a server-side scripting language via Perl and PHP.
Graphics are not done in HTML nor XHTML.

HTML and XHTML is more for web design, not images. phpbb is probably a better forum to go with anyway. Its pracitcally 100% customisable.

I also don't get why people bother learning html now. :?

Why not just skip it and get trained in using xhtml? It's pretty much the same anyway they've just fixed a few things that might be a slight inconvenience to lazy people that can't be bothered to end there tags.

I suggest anyone to start to xhtml, cleaner, and stricter code.

the best site (in my opinion) to go to for xhtml (and css, which is used in conjunction with xhtml) is htmldog

really easy to access, and it has stuff for every level of xhtml

Yes, html and xhtml aren't for message boards, their for web designs. For message boards, PHP is more what you would want to know. But yeah, if you want to learn, usually any w3 website is good (like w3school meantioned earlier). Though if your creating a site, you might also want to learn javascript and CSS (style coding) too. I learned html, xhtml, css, and javascript when I was 12 by school and the w3 sites.
