Are there any difference between two clue scrolls within the same lvl? E.g. clues from greater demons and blue dragons? Or doesn't the monster that dropped it matter at all when it comes to what you get?

No, only the level of the trail. You can find just as good a stash from a jelly clue as from an iron dragon one.
