What would be something good for me to train on that drops some good stuff, gives good exp, and doesn't hit too high?

Why get a 99 quickly when you can enjoy the skill for a longer time and make a lot of money in the process?

If your combat is between 50-85 I suggest you go to Crandor island and kill moss giants. They drop good loot aswell as 100% big bones.

45 skeletons are also pretty good. They drop a lot of laws and chaos runes. If you have 65 or more defense they don't hit often. Good xp there if you have a salve ammy also. I get around 50k to 60k an hour there.

:? tough one... If you have the slayer level, turoths. They don't hit so high with metal armour... I made the mistake of going in mystic robes once... never have I seen my food run out so fast.

Anyway, you probably should try 45 skellys with salve ammy if you dont have slayer. As Dave said, they drop plenty of runes

I have gotten following from turoth: lvl 3 clue, rune lage, addy large, mith kite, steel legs, a lots of herbs, mostly ranarr, 15-30 nats, 3? laws, and a whole lot of coins. Good stuff

Basilisks.. Lvl 61.. 40 slayer required to kill. also mirror shield.

even at like 100cb i would take 4 sharks and it would last forever.. basilisks usually barely hit when wearing rune.. i suggest them for the herbs, nats and water runes and coins..

Quote from runehq monster db.

Quote:
Law rune (3), Nature rune (15-37), Water rune (75), Adamantite ore, Adamant full helmet, Chaos talisman, Coins (11-440), Uncut gems, Herb (common), Rune dagger, Half of a key, Mithril axe (hatchet), Mithril kiteshield, Shield left half, Mithril spear, Mystic hat (white, gold), Steel battleaxe, Dragon Spear or Rune Javelin (5)

Lesser demons give very good xp and I suggest you if you want to get good drops and easy xp go to town in Karamja (the lava 1, I don't rember it's name  ) and kill level 149 (the highest I think there are) and they don't high and some people just getting 2 mil from their drops in 1 day  !
