I think that is great idea but it kind of conflicts with PKing in the Wilderness. Many people depend on the follow option in the chase to kill players and making it so that PKers can't follow you puts them at a large disadvantage. I'd say it would work if the choice to turn off follow was available everywhere except in the Wilderness in order to presere the fair play for both sides.

If you need the follow option to pk, then you shouldnt be pking, when you attack you auto follow the person anyways. If what you mean is when you go with a team, then keep in mind, whoevers supposed to be followed can just add you to their friends list

the nest quotes long, ill write my replies within it, but in red.

To be honest, I think this is the farthest the suggestion is ever going to get. Don't get me wrong, it is a good idea because I too have my share of "noobs" following me around, but think about what tendencies we have seen from JAGeX. There is no doubt that each of us has reported a scammer one time or another, and I'm sure most of us have reported more than one. Yet, how often is it that JAGeX takes action in dealing with these scammers? Lets face it, if JAGeX is unable to eliminate the relatively small amount of scammers compared to the general population of RuneScape, how can they hope to affect a population that is probably at least ten-fold that of the scammer population?

JAGeX Ltd. will accept and implement the idea if enough people post about it on the forums. A perfect example is the bank P.I.N.s, I saw a post about them about a month or so before they were actually added, it was posted exactly the way it came out.

I know that many people have hopes that their suggestions will become a reality in the game, but if JAGeX is unable to control such an important issue as scamming, then how can we expect them to take action on the less major things?

JAGeX Ltd. can only do so much, the bottom line is, at this point its up to you to know prices, and how to multiply and add (or use a calculator) and check the second trade screen, if you do that, you wont get scammed, remember, if its too good to be true it probably is, so make sure you check the second trade screen and are very extra careful :)

Plus if you think about it, If the mature community of high level players in RuneScape, which is a relatively small number compared to the total number or players, complains to JAGeX about the "noob" situation, think about how many more people would complain about not receiving help from an ignoring community, or worse yet, think of all the people who will quit. I too was among those which I consider to be "noobish", asking simple questions that probably anyone else with experience in the game could answer. Yet, if I hadn't received help from those more experienced, I wouldn't have grown to be the mature player I am today. Many of these new players simply don't know better so I think they still deserve a chance to try and get to know the game better before being shunned by all the high level players.

Well, if you think about it, more noobs will get help faster because the ones who wont stop when they see "c4n j00 h3lp m3 pl0xorz boxors!!??" are the ones who will have it set so they cant follow you. At this point the noob will understand and the proceed to the next victim thus reducing time wasted

If anyone really takes the time to analyze all the different players of RuneScape, you would notice that while most people categorize "noobs" as low levels who just don't get it, there are still those low levels who truly want to learn and advance in the game, as there are also high level players who are still as immature as the day they started.

People aren't being forced not to help, they just have further oppurtunity to ignore people who are...Annoying...When I needed help, I had the sense to check the main page which is where I found the manual, a large collection of knowledge from the game. Every player should check it, helped me get started with farming :P (when it was a day old.) Also they can search for fan sites such as this, tip.it, rune villiage, rune masers, and even small ones like sals realm of runescape, theres alot, just gotta spend 10 seconds to find them.

This follow option is a good idea, yes, but we shouldn't get carried away with it to the point where we start drastically affecting the RuneScape community. We have to keep in mind that many of us were like these "noobs" at one point or another and that everyone deserves a chance to learn and receive help.
Read my last point to see my views on this...

BTW, if I didn't know any better (Which I still dont) I would say that you just got bored and wrote a response essay style... [msn emote] LOL[/msn emote] (That would be a cool feature too!!! msn emotes!!! not hard :P just need to find their location on the comp which is <Main drive>:/documents and setting/application data/user/microsof/msn/random number/emoticons, there just change the file extension :P)

If you discount them following you, then what happens to the ones that keep on pressing the trade button, and soon, it's becoming spam because it filled up the whole entire chat bar?
