I know what you mean, even with a lower combat level and being stuck in F2P, people still bug me asking me for free items and questioning the obvious. I did the Christmas holiday items on the first day they came out and when I went from Varrock to Lumbridge, I got about 4 people asking me where I got the party hat(
) or asking how I got the hats and scarves. I told them to look at the main menu for the update, and I SWEAR, each and everyone one of them replied with a response similar to "Where is the Main Menu?!?" I seriously think people are getting way too lazy in the game and no longer put the effort needed to advance in it.
For the "noobs" asking for directions and for you to take you there, I have come up wiht a simple solution that allows you to escape while not feeling bad about ignoring them. Say for example a "noob" comes up to you and askes for you to take him to Falador; simply respond, "Sure! Follow me!" and proceed to teleport there. That way, you are technically showing them a way to get there without totally ignoring them, but also getting away from them. If they manage to get there, reward them with an uncommon but worthless item like sliced bananas.
