I hate the abyss!

*this is a whine post*

every time i go there, my runecrafting-day always ends with me getting killed and taking a three week break because getting new pouches is so boring and takes forever. i spend more time getting them than i actually get to use them, which is not fair. there are too many evil-minded people around. i'm cb 74, 66 hp, wearing blue d hide and a steel pic and ring of duelling. they know i can't be carrying anything of any value, and the only useful things will disapear before they'll get their hands on it (the pouches). as i said, too many evil-minded people around.

so.. what do you runecrafters do? do you get killed, and happy as nothing would've happened, go on yet another search after new pouches, then, 10 min later, get killed once again? do you go fully equipped with either range or mage items and prayer pots, so you can protect yourself? this is significantely lower your effectiveness, thus i assume you don't. do you craft without pouches? that'd be kinda ineffective aswell, especially for you high lvl ones who can almost double the amount of essences carried using pouches. i need help, i'm very frustrated. i assume you've already guessed, but i just got killed, again, after getting 2k rc-exp. you do the math.

what should i do? i have 74 ranged, 72 magic, 60 attack, 52 str, 60 def, 66 hp and combat 74. prayer is 53, if charged, but obviously it isn't as i've been in the abyss (duh..).

Yep. It's pathetic. I go back in full drag hide and range the mages. Of course they run or log like cowards. :roll:

yea i have the same problem

the first time it happened was good though

a mage in full ahrim killed me wit ice barrage

then i teled back and he was still their and i guess he lagged cause i easily ranged him

and luckily he still had all my stuff

plus i got full ahrim :twisted:

but neways, bring the cammy tele runes with you, it makes u rc 2 less nats, but it saves u almost always unless they get lucky to tele block you

that's why i asked, i didn't know how 2 runes could be better than ring of duelling of i had time to rub it and click anyway. now i know, and will consider using runes instead.

bah, i guess this is another 3 weeks off of runecrafting for me.. how come some people can craft for hours and hours without any problems?

it takes a sec of lag to rub and use duel ring

tele runes are fast

How can you keep on going when you get killed a few times an hour? Do you sometimes run for a couple of hours without pouches, or do you runecraft from 10.00 -> 14.00 gmt when there's almost no one online?

Also I hear these sunshine stories of people making 3k in 3 hours. I know it's possible, if you have pouches and don't get killed.. no fun when I get killed all the time.

A friend of mine gave me a tip. If you head across the bridge near edgeware and head up running the pkers normally don't see you before it's to late other than that the only other advice i can give is to do it the old fashioned way.

A faster way that's less dangerous, do Desert Treasure.

Once you complete it you can use the ancient magicks to teleport to Edgeville Dungeon.

I find going to the least full world helps making runes at the abyss. There's got to be at LEAST one world that has no PK'ers.

that is no fun, if I were to do it that way, I wouldn't even try to runecraft =) I'm no runner. If I were, I'd just be a nat runner for someone else.

Might be a dumb question, but how is that going to help (as in being less dangerous)? And aren't those ancient staffs sorta not free? :\

whats wrong with cammy runes?

just use em incase ur bein attacked

bring a glory to tele back to edge...

i can make 1.5k+ nats an hr that way

Well lemme make myself more clear.

An ancient magick teleport to Edgeville Dungeon will save you some amount of time. And if you ever plan on using glories as a way to get back to Edgeville, it saves you that risk of using them.

And as far as teleblocks go, you need some really good magic protection to avoid them. So wear full black dragonhide. 70k for a full set shouldn't be that hard to make up for. :roll:

And try not to carry that many pouches. Sure go ahead and get that many, but you shouldn't have that many out at the same time. So in case you die, you won't lose alot of pouches.

No you don't need an ancient staff to cast ancient spells. But if you don't understand, let me answer your question with another question:
Do you need an air staff to cast a spell?
All you need is the right runes.

Alright so carrying 3 runes instead of a few pouches might be annoying, but it'll save you some time.
