Post subject: is there a way to make money crafting?
PostPosted: November 27th, 2005, 5:08 pm
like the title says can crafting be profitable? when you cut gems, the price drops, then when you make them into jewelry, the price of gem+gold bar is greater than the price of the jewelry. So is there any item that is actually profitable to craft?

Well I bet you could make a profit making high-level items like Glory and Power ammies. Or for members, buy flax, spin into bowstring, repeat ;)

All dragonhide sets make profit. An example is green dragonhide vambraces, The hides are 1k each, nature rune 300gp, thread and needle 2gp. They high alchemy for 1.9k. Dragonstones are bought for 60-70k, gold bar 300gp and string 100gp. They sell for 80k minimum.

Diamond can be bought for 6k each easily (you'll get tons of them with that price). Amulet and enchant them and sell them for 10k

someone123, getting the gold is mining which gets money, but that sells for 300 each easily, so 300+gem+ball of wool+cosmics to enchant=more than sold for

No they don't. Green hides are 1.5k at the cheapest - 1.7k, and they only alch for 1.5k.

You need to at least be able to make power ammies if you want to make a profit off of crafting unless you're a really good merchant who can manage to buy items very cheap. Well I guess you could make money off of spinning flax, but that's not very good money, but your question is just a profit so yeah, spinning flax makes a profit. :D

it can be if u are willing to gather your own supplies which gets to be a pain at times otherwise most of the supplies are way overpriced in the rs forums these days to be making much if anything offa it.

ie. green dragon hide armor alchs for roughly 1500gp per hide, varies slightly between he 3 pieces, but the hides are being sold at around 2k atm due to alot of people wantin to train it again so they can make they own furys and what not else.

until u can make ur own deaths and furys to get a stable supply of onyx gems dont expect a whole lot from it.

You could just make battle staffs. It's good exp and you make quiet a good profit. The downside is it is a very long and time consuming process but it helped me get to 70 crafting.

You are hereby under arrest by order of the Redundancy Police!

I've never had much use for crafting other than making vials for herblore. Dragonhide armor and jewelry make good alch targets but I don't do that often.

F2p then, basically only power ammies. If you get your own leather hide you could make some money, but I don't think its very much
