Does the new slayer skill affect combat?

Just wondering and yes hello u did kinda answer this on the news discussion topic, but i just wanna make sure its true.

Mike says it gives combat exp, so I guess it does.

i think the new slayer skill won't affect the combat level but certainly give combat exp. if it does, new players will be discouraged easily since p2pers hang around free worlds wilderness area.

man that bites... then f2pers can only be lvl 126 while members can be in their 130s or 140s or so

NO... it doesn't give combat levels from getting slayer levels, but you get combat experience for combat skills still while slaying monsters..

Max combat level is still 126
