Getting a little off Runescape related,
Because of ppl like this MMOs (Massive multiplayer online games) are having trouble rating it "T" for teens. I dont have a problem myself if they rate them "M" for mature, but I speak because when I started playing I was a teen. The MMos are created for young teens. But yes there is always that person who ruins it. You cant get away from this "topic" not even in imaginary worlds like Runescape.
Now going back to topic,
My bf and I both play runescape. It gets me mad when ever some1 calls me a boy and starts talking to my bf about ppl that do all this stuff. I know it gets out of hand with the real ppl that do this. But please dont always judge by mayority. Stereotiping isn't nice.

you guys need to realise that on games like these, people feel more comfortable asking personal questions and you should be on guard as to which ones you WANT to answer. i think that the reason why people talk about perverted things is because they know that they can't just go up to a boy/girl in real life and proposition them. a lof of kids who play are in their young teens and have just hit puberty anyway. usually if someone asks something lude about me, i just ignore them. if they follow me, i put my private chat to 'friends only' and change worlds. it hasn't really gotten past that, but if it did..i'd report.

I usually make sure they know what they're doing before I report them, because I'll betcha there are a ton of players out there to decided that reading the Runescape rules was officially a big waste of time and they don't need to know it. Either that, or they don't even know they exist.
The first time they ask something personal or, in a way, inappropriate, I reply with a 'why do you want to know'? I do it just to see if they're trying to get something out of it, though 95% of them are mainly curious. When and if it is, I tell them that they don't NEED to know.
If they ask it again and start following, I will mention the Runescape Rules and tell them to give them a look-over for future reference, and still not answer. I'll also give them a warning. Just in case they missed that in the rules and didn't realize it wasn't allowed. I mean, there are a lot of good Runescape players out there, and many of them fall to these mere misunderstandings.
However, if he still ignores my advice, follows me, and pesters me about it, that's when I take action with the report abuse button we all know so well. If he doesn't have any concern with the rules, by Saradomin he shouldn't be allowed to play.
And by the way, asking for someone's age isn't entirely personal, unless the answerer is uncomfortable with others knowing how old he or she is. Otherwise, I think that other people should have a bit of an idea of who they're talking to. For example, if it was a 7 year old playing, they could keep things short and simple instead of wildly guessing everyone's a teenager and rant about long descriptive conclusions while the kid has absolutely no idea what the player's talking about.
Otherwise, if you're in a hurry and don't want anything to do with the person if someone asks for you to be his or her boy or girlfriend, just say one simple word: TAKEN.
That's my point of view.
