i've won in 5 national archery competitions
i even fletch my own bows i use oak and california redwood for my bows
i like to use 30 pounder fiberglass long bows with oak arrows when im hunting
i have a specialized quiver that holds about 500 arrows
im best at accuracy with a yew longbow and oak arrows
im best at power with fiberglass long bow and aluminum arrows
and yes there is more equipment other that the bow, arrows, and arm guard...

*edit* most bows are fiberglass now days, but they still have some long bows and recourve bows that are made of oak or yew or other woods
when i just shoot for fun i usually use a 30 pounder and i pull it too right b2 my ear, i also keep me elbow lined up with the arrow and my legs spread so i am stable, to aim i just focus on the exact spot of wear i want the arrow to land, then i look down the shaft, and i let it go, u also need to hold the bow stable and follow it through, if u dont the arrow will fly awkwordly... ps. i usually use a fiber glass recourve/long bow with either oak or alluminum arrows
