What with Kinect launching today GB is going to be showing it off and all the games out for it here;

Apparently there just going to get straight to it. Technical hicups and all. Best way to see how well it works. I'm expecting it to be crappy. How about you?

I have to admit if I had the money to drop on kinect, I'd probabaly pick it up despite my initial reservations, just because I love trying out new tech.

From what I saw of the last E3 microsoft press conference video, I wasn't to impressed at the launch games for the Kinect. The fitness game looked interesting and the dance game looked promising, but the other titles all seemed to be lacking.

Allot of them may be great in a party where you have family or friends over, and a few would be great for small kids, but for the most part I didn't see anything that would keep my interest for very long.

It's been several years but I seem to remember playing ghost recon on the original xbox and giving voice commands through the headset.. I remember how cool that seemed. If they can integrate kinect in that fashion with current or future titles, then it might have allot more promise, rather than simply designing games around kinect.

Wii ripoff, I think we have gone over that before Creepy. Right now, it's going to flop since the best game they have for it is Fable, and that's just fine without motion controls. If someone here has Kinect, please prove me wrong, show that it's actually worth the $150.

I was determined to hate Kinect, but it actually looked pretty fun from watching these guys do it. If I didn't already have a Wii (and if I had a job), I would consider getting it.

Spoiler for Nietszche Quote:

But what did such a Teuton afterwards look like when he had been "improved" and led into a monastery? Like a caricature of a human being, like an abortion: he had become a "sinner," he was in a cage, one had imprisoned him behind nothing but sheer terrifying concepts... There he lay now, sick, miserable, filled with ill-will towards himself; full of hatred for the impulses toward life, full of suspicion of all that was still strong and happy. In short, a "Christian"... - Twighlight of the Idols

Yeah i thought that. Had a few features i didn't know about that looked interesting. As it goes I don't have room for the thing. 6 foot of space between you and your TV? :|

Everyone in my school is saying kinect is going to destroy the Wii, and it'll beat out the PS3 Motion thing. I think it will sell no matter how un-realistic it is for the XBOX 360 user-base. I will never ever use a body controller for a FPS. Wait, can they even program it to play FPS's? I mean, how would you shoot? would you have to buy a $40 plastic gun? What about the differences in size between a Golden Eagle and a RPG? Great technology, wrong targeted people, but its gonna sell anyways. Meh, maybe not actually. I live near one of the most costly $ per acre places in the nation (can't say which, you guys would find me and send pizza delivery men to my house, and I'd have to pay). Maybe this is just the spoiled little kid getting the brand new tech thing.

We're not rich, we just live near that neigborhood, close enough that I go to school where almost every kid has a brand new HTC/droid/iPhone 4
